The available reporting does not establish that Zac Efron owns a $22 million Byron Bay vacation home. It describes a separate purchase: Efron reportedly bought 128 hectares in the Tweed Valley for $2 million, while a different Byron Bay-area property sold for $22 million to Rip Curl co-founder Brian Singer. Later coverage describes a proposed home on Efron’s acreage, not a completed house open for a peek inside.
What property did Zac Efron reportedly buy?
In 2021, realestate.com.au reported that title settlement records showed Zachary David Alexander Efron had bought a 128-hectare block in the Tweed Valley for $2 million. That is the reported land transaction associated with Efron—not a $22 million Byron Bay home purchase.
The acreage is described as around an hour north of Byron Bay, between Byron Bay and the Gold Coast. That places it in the wider region, but it is not a Byron Bay town property. Architectural Digest’s coverage also treats the acreage as distinct from the Byron Bay property sale.
Who bought the separate $22 million Byron Bay property?
The $22 million figure belongs to another transaction. The Byron Shire Echo reported that Rip Curl co-founder Brian Singer paid $22 million for a house in the Wategos/Byron Bay area. The report does not identify Efron as the buyer.

What is known about Efron’s proposed home?
Later reports describe a planned home on the acreage nicknamed Futurecave. realestate.com.au and Home Beautiful name designer Joost Bakker and architect Frank Burridge as participants and report the use of hemp and other experimental or recycled materials.
Those reports describe design intentions, not a verified final specification. The available coverage does not establish that the home is finished, nor does it provide grounds to claim public access or a tour inside. Earlier reporting by Architectural Digest said evidence of a build had not then emerged; that historical observation should not be mistaken for a current construction update.

Why the headline’s $22 million claim is misleading
It combines two different properties and buyers: Efron’s reported $2 million Tweed Valley land purchase and Singer’s separately reported $22 million Byron Bay-area house purchase. The available reporting supports a proposed residence on Efron’s acreage, but not the claim that it is a $22 million Byron Bay vacation home.
