On May 31, 2018, the Huffington Post published a feature identifying Mekelburg as the person behind @AmyMek, according to contemporaneous coverage. The next day, WWE confirmed that Siino was no longer an employee. Pro Wrestling Dot Net reported the company’s statement: “Now that it has come to our attention, Sal Siino is no longer an employee.”

What was reported about @AmyMek
The Hour’s June 5, 2018 account identified Mekelburg as the operator of @AmyMek and described the account as anti-Muslim. The article relayed the Huffington Post feature’s description of the account as posting about 25 times a day; that is a historical estimate reported in 2018, not a current activity measure. The Hour also reported an audience of 229,000 followers at the time. That figure is likewise a historical report, not a current count.

What the reporting did—and did not—establish about Siino
The Hour noted that Luke O’Brien’s reporting did not provide evidence that Siino was involved in creating the account’s messaging. His marriage to Mekelburg and his departure from WWE do not establish that he wrote, managed, or endorsed the posts.

Siino’s professional background was reported separately: The Hour said he joined WWE in February 2017 and negotiated television deals in the United Arab Emirates. That work does not establish any connection to the account’s operation.

Mekelburg disputed the characterization of her husband’s dismissal, saying: “My husband was wrongfully fired & discriminated against based on nothing he said, but the fact that his wife stood up against oppression, discrimination, honor killings, female genital mutilations, etc.” That was her public claim; the available reporting does not independently verify her account of WWE’s motive.
