Wienerschnitzel announced six planned restaurants inside Walmart stores in May 2025, targeting fall openings. Later updates named tentative timelines for Tempe, Arizona, and Puyallup, Washington, but the available announcements and reports do not confirm that all six locations opened. Check the restaurant locator and contact the specific Walmart before making a trip.
Which Walmart stores were named?
On May 28, 2025, Wienerschnitzel announced plans for six restaurants, each to be owned and operated by a local franchisee. The company set a target of opening them by fall 2025; that was a plan, not confirmation that the restaurants opened on schedule. Wienerschnitzel’s announcement named these cities:

What follow-up updates are available?
Tempe, Arizona
In November 2025, Wienerschnitzel announced a restaurant inside the Walmart Supercenter at 1380 W. Elliot Road, with a tentative opening date of November 15, 2025. The announcement establishes the planned date, not whether the restaurant ultimately opened. Read the Tempe announcement.
Puyallup, Washington
On December 18, 2025, the company announced a second restaurant inside a Walmart Supercenter, at 10 31st Ave SE, and said it was tentatively expected to open in the following weeks. Read the Puyallup announcement.

A February 21, 2026 report by The News Tribune said the opening had slipped from an early-January expectation. It quoted the co-owner as targeting February 28. That report documents a delay and a planned date; it does not confirm the restaurant opened.
Colorado Springs, Reno and Bakersfield
Wienerschnitzel’s franchise news page describes a Walmart location in Colorado Springs and says additional restaurants were planned in Reno and Bakersfield. It is not a complete status report for all six originally announced sites.

Alamogordo and the full six-store plan
The available follow-up information does not establish a current operating status for every location in the original announcement. In particular, it does not provide a definitive store-by-store confirmation for all six.
What was supposed to be on the menu?
In its original announcement, Wienerschnitzel said the Walmart restaurants would offer the full menu, including Chili Cheese Dogs, Junkyard Dogs, chili cheese fries, jalapeño poppers and Tastee Freez soft-serve desserts. That was the company’s announced menu plan; check with the individual restaurant about current offerings.

How to check whether a location is open
- Search the official Wienerschnitzel location finder for the city or address.
- Call the listed restaurant or the Walmart store to confirm that the restaurant is operating and to check current hours.
- If you want a particular menu item, ask whether that location has it available before visiting.
The locator is the appropriate starting point for a present-day check, but a listing alone may not answer every question about opening status, hours or item availability.
