Kubota tractors are made by Kubota Corporation, a publicly held Japanese company established in 1890. They are not all made in Japan: Kubota’s official materials document tractor production in Japan and Thailand, as well as a plant in France producing dry-field tractors. - Japan: Kubota’s history says it established Tsukuba Plant in 1975 as a specialized mass-production factory for tractors. This confirms a Japanese tractor-production site, not that every current model is made there.
- Thailand: Kubota’s history records establishing a tractor manufacturing base in Thailand in 2007 through SIAM KUBOTA.
- France: Kubota’s business overview identifies a French plant that produces dry-field farming tractors. This describes a product category, not the origin of every Kubota tractor sold in Europe or elsewhere.
Kubota says its farm and industrial machinery business serves regions including Japan, North America, Europe, and Asia. It also reports global tractor production of more than 6.1 million units as of December 31, 2025. How to find where a specific Kubota tractor was made
- Check the tractor’s identification plate for its manufacturing or country-of-origin information.
- Note the exact model and model year, and the country or region where the tractor was sold. These details matter because factory assignments may differ by product category and market.
- If the plate does not answer the question, ask Kubota or an authorized dealer to confirm the origin using the machine’s identifying details. The public materials cited here do not offer a comprehensive current model-and-serial-number origin lookup.
