Who owns Burnley FC?
VSP acquired a controlling 84% stake in Burnley in the December 2020 takeover, and Alan Pace became chairman. That figure describes the takeover at the time; it should not be read as the club’s current ownership split. The Premier League’s public register, dated 22 April 2026, lists Pace, Stuart Hunt, David Checketts and Michael Smith as statutory directors, alongside ALK Capital LLC, Burnley FC Holdings Limited and Velocity entities. It is a register of directors and relevant legal entities, not an investor-by-investor shareholding table.
Burnley’s 2023 announcements added two sets of investors: J.J. and Kealia Watt, and the sports-entertainment group Dude Perfect. The announcements reviewed describe them as investors but do not state their ownership percentages or the sums they invested. It is therefore not possible to calculate each investor’s current stake from those announcements or combine them with the 2020 figure to produce a present-day cap table.
What is Alan Pace’s source of wealth?
Pace’s documented career spans financial services and sports management. Burnley’s published biography says he worked at Citi, including as managing director and global head of sales for securities services, and previously held a sports-business role at SCP Worldwide and a leadership role at Real Salt Lake. He founded ALK Capital in 2019. These roles describe his professional background; they do not establish his personal net worth.

Burnley’s Innovation Hub quotes Pace on the club’s approach: “Innovation is at the forefront of what we do at Burnley FC. We’re a forever forward-thinking Club with a passion for unlocking opportunities and driving growth.” The statement is about the club’s strategy, not a disclosure of Pace’s finances.
How did J.J. and Kealia Watt make their money?
J.J. Watt’s wealth background is his NFL career and related business activity. Kealia Watt’s is professional soccer and associated work. BBC Sport reported their Burnley investment on 1 May 2023; the report confirms their sporting careers and investment, but it does not provide a verified personal net-worth calculation or disclose the size of their stake.

The couple said: “When you invest in a club that’s been around since 1882, you must have great respect for its history and tradition.” Their words explain their respect for Burnley’s history, not the financial terms of their investment.
Did Dude Perfect invest in Burnley?
Yes. Burnley confirmed Dude Perfect’s investment in summer 2023. The group comprises Garrett Hilbert, Tyler Toney, Cody Jones, and twins Coby and Cory Cotton. The club also documented a junior and academy shirt partnership for the 2024/25 season. Neither the investment announcement nor the partnership establishes the group’s investment amount, its ownership percentage or the individual members’ net worth.

A group’s commercial success is not the same thing as a disclosed personal fortune for each member. No individual wealth figure or group valuation is established by the cited club information.
What do Burnley’s accounts say about the club’s finances?
Burnley FC Holdings Limited’s report for the year ended 31 July 2025 records turnover of £71.7 million, down from £133.6 million in the prior-year comparison. The report attributes the decline to Championship participation and lower broadcasting distributions. It also records £59.0 million profit on disposal of player registrations and a £28.5 million post-tax loss.

These are company-level financial results, not personal wealth figures. They do not reveal the value of an individual investor’s stake, and a club’s turnover, transfer-related profit and post-tax result are different measures rather than interchangeable estimates of owner wealth.

The available career histories and investment announcements do not provide those calculations. Online estimate-site figures should not be treated as verified facts without transparent, attributable evidence.

To establish an investor’s current economic ownership, a reader would need a current shareholding disclosure that states the relevant investor, legal entity, date and percentage. The public register dated 22 April 2026 does not supply that information; the 84% figure belongs specifically to VSP’s December 2020 takeover.
