Bed Bath & Beyond, Inc. bought the Kirkland’s Home trade name and related brand assets for $10 million in September 2025, then announced plans to convert some Kirkland’s locations into Bed Bath & Beyond store concepts. That does not mean every Kirkland’s store became Bed Bath & Beyond Home: the companies described a conversion strategy, not a completed store-by-store change.
What happened to Kirkland’s Home?
In September 2025, Bed Bath & Beyond, Inc. announced that it had completed a $10 million purchase of the Kirkland’s Home trade name and related brand assets. The deal concerned the brand assets; it was not an acquisition of The Brand House Collective, the company that operated Kirkland’s stores. Bed Bath & Beyond’s announcement said the move would support converting Kirkland’s Home locations into Bed Bath & Beyond stores.
The companies’ language matters: buying a brand’s name and related assets is different from buying the operating company, and an announced conversion plan is different from proof that every store has changed. The release described the aim as building a larger national footprint and improving operating efficiencies, but did not establish a completed conversion count.
Is Kirkland’s turning into Bed Bath & Beyond Home?
Not exactly. Bed Bath & Beyond Home is a store concept announced by The Brand House Collective, formerly Kirkland’s, Inc. The company announced its first Bed Bath & Beyond Home store for Nashville, Tennessee, with a planned opening date of August 8, 2025. That announcement identifies the new concept; it does not make Kirkland’s Home and Bed Bath & Beyond Home interchangeable names.

Separately, Bed Bath & Beyond said it planned to convert additional Kirkland’s locations into Bed Bath & Beyond and buybuy BABY stores over the following 24 months. This was a forward-looking plan, not confirmation that all locations would convert or that each would use the Bed Bath & Beyond Home format.
Who operated the stores?
The Brand House Collective operated the retail business. In June 2025, it said its corporate name change reflected a shift toward operating a multi-brand merchandising, supply-chain and retail business. Bed Bath & Beyond’s purchase of the Kirkland’s Home brand assets should therefore not be read as a purchase of The Brand House Collective itself.

The company reported more than 300 stores across 35 states in a July 2025 announcement. Its SEC-filed report later gave a dated snapshot of 306 stores across 35 states as of November 1, 2025. That number is historical, not a verified 2026 store count or a count of locations converted to another concept.

The Brand House Collective described Kirkland’s Home’s assortment as including furniture, rugs and textiles, alongside its core home décor business. In a 2024 announcement, it said it intended to expand these categories across its store network, its Beyond websites and other marketplaces. Those statements describe the assortment and plans at that time; they do not verify what is currently in stock or which categories a particular Bed Bath & Beyond Home store carries.

For shoppers, the practical takeaway is to check the specific store or retailer listing rather than assume a Kirkland’s Home product, inventory or policy automatically carries over to a Bed Bath & Beyond concept.
