The information visible in the listing does not specify the deadline, who may use the window, what proof is required, or how a correction must be submitted. Category correction is not the same as editing other application details
The notice title refers specifically to changing or updating category. It does not establish permission to change other personal information. The Board’s general candidate guidance says modification requests outside editing windows are generally not entertained and identifies caste/category/community separately; that general guidance does not replace the terms of this special window.
Do not apply rules from a different recruitment drive. A Kolkata Police 2024 notice described an editing period of 1–7 April 2024, OTP verification, and exclusions for permanent state, mobile number, and email. Those terms belonged to that separate, historical drive and are not evidence of the West Bengal Police Constable 2024 special-window rules.
