Voltu Motor’s Voltu3 Class 3 electric work truck is in production at Voltu Forge One–Riverside, and the City of Riverside reported the first customer delivery in June 2026. Riverside is both the manufacturing location and the first customer. The vehicle is aimed at municipal and commercial work, not consumer pickup buyers.
What has happened with Voltu’s Riverside rollout?
In March 2026, the City of Riverside said the first 20 Voltu3 trucks were imminently due to leave the production line. The city described those vehicles as the first of 600 projected deliveries in 2026; that figure was a forecast, not a confirmed delivery total. In June, the city reported that production had started at Voltu Forge One–Riverside and that it had received the initial production vehicles as the first customer. The June announcement described approximately 14,000 trucks as planned production capacity. That is a capacity plan, not evidence that the facility has produced that many trucks or is currently operating at that rate. The University of California, Riverside also reported the facility opening and described the Voltu3 as using a Ford F-350 chassis with Voltu’s proprietary battery and electrical systems. What kind of truck is the Voltu3?
The Voltu3 is a Class 3 battery-electric work truck intended for municipal service applications. South Coast AQMD’s February 2026 project material describes a funded project to develop, demonstrate and deploy 10 such trucks for Riverside. It says Voltu assembles and integrates its powertrain on a Ford F-350 chassis. This describes a commercial vehicle platform; it should not be treated as a consumer pickup specification or an independently tested production-truck review. South Coast AQMD, February 2026.

What specifications and charging features are reported?
The following figures appear in the South Coast AQMD project material. They are project-document specifications, not independently validated test results in the cited material.

The AQMD material also describes Voltu’s AC-to-DC charging approach. Voltu’s website claims vehicle-to-everything energy sharing up to 200 kW and vehicle-to-vehicle transfer capability; those are company claims, not independently confirmed performance results here. Voltu Motors.

What do the production numbers mean for buyers and fleets?
The rollout figures answer different questions and should not be combined as if they were completed output:
- 10 trucks: the number in South Coast AQMD’s funded development, demonstration and deployment project for Riverside, dated February 2026.
- 20 initial trucks: the City of Riverside’s March 2026 report of vehicles expected imminently from the line.
- 600 deliveries: the city’s projection for 2026, not a reported final delivery count.
- Approximately 14,000 trucks: planned production capacity reported by the city in June 2026, not achieved annual production.
For a fleet evaluating the Voltu3, those announcements establish that production and an initial customer delivery were reported, but they do not establish real-world range on a particular route, charging time at a specific site, payload in a chosen configuration, operating cost, warranty terms or service coverage. Those details matter because a municipal truck’s economics depend on its duty cycle and charging setup, not just headline power and range figures. The reviewed sources do not provide comparable measurements for those fleet-decision factors.

What is not yet established by the reported figures?
The cited releases and project material do not provide independently measured emissions reductions, realized production totals, market-size data or operating-cost comparisons. Nor do they establish that the planned 14,000-unit capacity has been reached or that all 600 forecast 2026 deliveries occurred. Treat those numbers as a project scope, forecast and capacity plan respectively—not as proof of fleet scale or commercial performance.
