The retailer’s current pages show end-of-year and holiday clearance, not a live post-Christmas event, and the claim of discounts up to 73% is unverified. The most useful guide is to treat past markdowns as context—not a promise—and check each item’s current price and availability before buying.
Is Walmart’s after-Christmas sale live?
Walmart’s accessible End of Year Clearance and Holiday Clearance Flash Deals pages display changing clearance listings. They do not establish that a 2026 after-Christmas event is underway or confirm an event-wide maximum discount. A product appearing on a clearance page is not, by itself, proof of a post-Christmas offer.

At the time the End of Year Clearance page was accessed in 2026, it listed a Best Choice Products 6-foot pre-lit artificial Christmas tree for $109.99, compared with a displayed previous price of $171.99. That is a dated listing snapshot, not a promised future sale price; check the live listing for the current price, seller, fulfillment, and stock.

For the completed 2025–26 season, The Krazy Coupon Lady retrospectively reported that Walmart stores began holiday markdowns at 50% on December 26, reached 75% on December 29, and reached 90% on January 5. These are that publisher’s observations, not an official Walmart schedule. The report also notes that selection varied by store, so the dates and markdown stages should not be treated as a forecast for the next season.

Walmart’s holiday-clearance listings can include both seasonal and nonseasonal merchandise, including Christmas inflatables. A clearance label does not mean every item is discounted by the same percentage or that every store has the same stock.
How to judge whether a clearance price is a real saving
Use the exact product listing, not a headline percentage, to decide whether a deal fits your budget. A displayed comparison price is only useful if it applies to the same item and configuration; the price you can actually pay and the item’s availability matter more than the largest advertised markdown.

What to expect from the “up to 73% off” claim
The available sources do not verify 73% as Walmart’s current or event-wide after-Christmas maximum. Walmart’s dynamic clearance pages show item-level price comparisons, while the past markdown milestones reported by The Krazy Coupon Lady describe a particular 2025–26 season and vary by store. Treat 73% as unconfirmed unless a specific live item and its reference price support that figure.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Are after-Christmas deals still available?
Some clearance listings may remain available after the holidays, but a listing can change or sell out, and store selection varies. Homes & Gardens described the shopping window as extending from after-Christmas deals into January sale coverage; that is broad seasonal coverage, not confirmation that a particular Walmart product or markdown is still available. Check the live listing and your local store before making a trip.
