The Verizon free World Cup ticket giveaway is closed. The October 2025 drops described in the original guide are past, and so is the June 1, 2026 drop that Verizon later announced as its largest. As of October 8, 2026, the official material we could check does not show a new open drop. This article explains how the offers worked, what they did not cover, and what the mechanics mean for your budget if a similar promotion appears later.
What the June 1, 2026 drop offered
Verizon’s announcement, dated May 21, 2026, described a June 1, 2026 giveaway of over 2,500 free tickets across 64 matches in every U.S. host city. These were Verizon’s own announced figures. The claim process and eligibility rules were set out in the same announcement:
- Who could claim: Verizon customers only.
- How tickets were claimed: first come, first served, through Verizon Access in the My Verizon app.
- Distance limit: a customer could claim only games within 150 miles of the home address on the account. For example, a home address 100 miles from a host city would have qualified for games there, while one 200 miles away would not.
- Golden Tickets: Verizon also said hundreds of additional winners would watch part of a match pitchside. Verizon described this as a promotional quantity rather than a precise count, and the announcement does not describe how those winners were selected.
- What was excluded: travel and accommodation were not included.
Verizon’s chief marketing officer, Leslie Berland, framed the campaign in the announcement as a way to give customers “access and experiences that are above and beyond.” That is Verizon’s own promotional language, not an independent assessment of the offer.
How claiming worked
Because the June 1 drop was first come, first served, timing mattered as much as eligibility. The announced sequence was:

- Open the My Verizon app on your phone.
- Navigate to Verizon Access within the app and look for the World Cup ticket listings.
- Claim a game when it appears. Because claims were first come, first served, a listing could be gone quickly.
The official announcement does not publish the exact on-screen labels or the minute-by-minute timing of the drop, so treat the steps above as the announced method rather than a screen-by-screen walkthrough.
The earlier October 2025 drops
The guide this article replaces covered an earlier series. According to Tom’s Guide’s coverage of the offer, tickets were to appear in My Verizon through Verizon Access, with hourly drops on October 2, 2025, followed by daily drops from October 3 through October 13. That article reported that the games were scheduled for June 13 to 16, 2026. Those dates describe what was reported at the time, not a route to tickets today.
Comparing the two promotions
The two offers share a claim channel and a customer-only rule, but they differ on almost every other detail. The table uses only what the sources state; where a detail was not reported, it says so.

|---|---|---|
| Claim timing | Hourly drops on October 2, 2025; daily drops October 3 to 13, 2025 | Single drop on June 1, 2026 |
| Games covered | Scheduled for June 13 to 16, 2026, as reported by Tom’s Guide | 64 matches across every U.S. host city |

What a ticket does and does not cover
A free ticket removes one cost: admission. It does not remove the rest of the cost of attending a match. For the June 1 drop, Verizon said travel and accommodation were not included, so the financial question is what you would spend to reach the stadium and stay the night, if you need to.
- Estimate the full trip before claiming. Add transport, lodging, food, local transit and any time away from work. A ticket that is free to claim can still produce a trip that costs several hundred dollars or more, depending on the city and dates.
- Check whether the match is within your practical range. The 150-mile limit tied eligibility to the home address, so a claimable game may still require a long trip inside that radius.
- Avoid paying for a “free” ticket. A listing that asks for a fee, a deposit or account credentials from a third-party site is not part of the Verizon offer described in its announcement.
The FOX One mentions
Verizon’s announcement also referred to a limited-time FOX One offer for new Verizon Home Internet customers and a monthly FOX One perk for myPlan customers. The page does not establish whether either remains available, so do not assume either is open. If you are considering a Verizon plan or service change for its streaming perks, confirm the current terms on Verizon’s own site first.
How to check for future offers
Verizon’s official news page is the most reliable place to see whether a new ticket drop has been announced. The June 1, 2026 drop was published there as an announcement, with its dates, claim method, distance limit and exclusions. A promotion that is real and open will be described in terms like these. If a page or social post cites dates that have already passed, such as the October 2025 schedule or the June 1, 2026 drop, it is describing an offer that has ended.
