Those figures are prize-money totals—not verified personal net worth. Publicly available evidence cited here does not establish what any of the five is worth after sponsorships, other income, assets, taxes and liabilities.
Who leads the five players in reported career prize money?
DartsKing’s career prize-money table, with a cutoff of 5 December 2025, ranks the five named players as follows. These are publisher-reported tournament earnings, not audited disclosures of personal wealth.
| Player | Reported career prize money |
|---|---|
| Michael van Gerwen | £11,867,610 |
| Phil Taylor | £7,695,322 |
| Peter Wright | £6,081,799 |
| James Wade | £5,153,608 |
| Gerwyn Price | £4,733,500 |
DartsKing’s table reports amounts in pounds and euros and labels the measure as prize money. The pound figures above preserve that dataset and cutoff; they should not be read as estimates of the players’ bank balances or total assets.
Is Phil Taylor richer than Peter Wright?
On DartsKing’s reported career prize-money measure, no: Taylor’s £7,695,322 exceeds Wright’s £6,081,799 in the table current through 5 December 2025. That comparison answers who has the higher reported tournament-prize total in this dataset, not who has greater personal net worth.

Why “richest” does not establish net worth
Career prize money is only one possible source of income. The available figures do not establish these players’ sponsorship earnings, exhibition fees, product income, assets, taxes or liabilities. No independently audited personal-net-worth figures for these players are established by the cited sources, so a definitive ranking of total wealth cannot be made from them.
A September 2026 compilation by Vermögen Magazin reports a different set of career prize-money totals: €14.68 million for van Gerwen, €8.92 million for Taylor, €7.41 million for Wright, and €6.56 million each for Wade and Price. It says sponsorship and own-product income are generally not public and are excluded from its list. Since that compilation does not reconcile its methodology with DartsKing’s, its euro totals should be treated as a separate dataset rather than combined with the pound figures above. Vermögen Magazin’s compilation was published on 3 September 2026.

Career prize money is not the PDC Order of Merit
The PDC Order of Merit is a rolling ranking based on prize money from ranking events during the previous two years; it is not a lifetime earnings total or a measure of personal wealth. Vermögen Magazin also notes that invitation events such as the Premier League, World Series and World Cup can contribute to career prize-money sums while not counting toward the Order of Merit. A current ranking and a career prize-money table therefore measure different things.
For identity reference, the PDC maintains an official player directory; the directory is not a source of personal financial disclosures.
