The UPSC CDS (II) 2023 final results were released in two phases: IMA, INA and AFA on 22 April 2024, followed by the OTA men’s and women’s lists on 20 June 2024. Download them through the UPSC Final Results Archives or use the official PIB links below.

Download the official CDS (II) 2023 result

  1. Find the UPSC archive entry: Open the UPSC Final Results Archives and locate “Combined Defence Services Examination (II), 2023.”
  2. For OTA men and women: Open the official PIB announcement for 20 June 2024. It links the English and Hindi result PDFs. You can also open the official English OTA result PDF directly.
  3. For IMA, INA and AFA: Open the official PIB announcement for 22 April 2024 and follow its result link.

The UPSC archive is the official route for finding the result entry. A direct legacy UPSC PDF address for the April IMA/INA/AFA list is not established here, so use the archive or the PIB notice rather than an unverified file address.

Why there are two result dates

Result list Announcement date Published count
IMA, INA and AFA 22 April 2024 197 candidates across the three lists (143 + 39 + 15), as reported by UPSC via PIB; common candidates appear across lists.
OTA men and women 20 June 2024 271 candidates (204 men + 67 women), as reported by UPSC via PIB.

The April announcement covered the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA) and Air Force Academy (AFA). The later notice covered the Officers Training Academy (OTA): the 120th Short Service Commission Course (Non-Technical) for men and the 34th Short Service Commission Women (Non-Technical) Course, both scheduled to commence in October 2024.

How to read the published counts

Do not add the April and June figures and call the sum a unique total. The April release notes common candidates across the IMA, INA and AFA lists, while the OTA men’s list includes candidates previously recommended for IMA, INA and AFA in this examination. The announcements therefore do not establish a combined count of unique candidates.

The 6,908 candidates who qualified for SSB interviews after the written CDS (II) 2023 examination were a written-stage figure, not a final-selection count. The written exam was held on 3 September 2023, according to the UPSC announcement carried by PIB.

What the final lists do—and do not—confirm

Being listed or recommended was not confirmation that every remaining check had been completed. The June OTA notice said medical examination results were not included in preparing the list, candidature was provisional, and Army Headquarters would verify date of birth and educational qualifications. The April notice likewise said verification was underway and directed candidates to send supporting certificates to the relevant service headquarters.

The vacancies reported by the government were 100 for IMA, 32 for INA and 32 for AFA in the April release, and 169 for OTA men and 16 for OTA women in the June release. Vacancies are not the same as the number of candidates listed or recommended.

Marks access is separate from the result PDF

The June 2024 notice said candidates’ marks would be posted on the Commission website within 15 days of the final-result declaration and remain available for 30 days. That temporary marks window was separate from downloading the merit-list PDF. A later UPSC disclosure notice, dated 29 August 2024, described a separate score-disclosure scheme for willing non-qualified candidates and said the disclosure information would remain valid for one year from disclosure. These notices do not establish that an individual candidate’s historical marks page is still accessible now.
