The final schedule reported for the UPPSC PCS Preliminary Examination 2024 set the exam for December 22, 2024, in two sessions: 9:30–11:30 a.m. and 2:30–4:30 p.m. The previously reported December 7–8 dates were superseded. This is a historical schedule, not the calendar for a current UPPSC exam cycle.
UPPSC PCS Prelims 2024 exam date and session timings
Hindustan Times reported on November 15, 2024, that the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) had changed the Combined State / Senior Subordinate Services (P.A.) Examination 2024 to a one-day exam on December 22. Its report gave the sessions as follows:
| Session | Reported timing |
|---|---|
| First session | 9:30–11:30 a.m. |
| Second session | 2:30–4:30 p.m. |
Hindustan Times reproduced the notice wording stating that the exam, previously proposed for December 7 and 8, “will now be held in one day on 22.12.2024 in two sessions.” The quotation and schedule are reported by the outlet; the original notice was not independently retrieved here. Read the Hindustan Times report.
How the 2024 schedule changed
The date changed more than once. Reading the announcements chronologically makes clear why December 7–8 should not be treated as the final schedule.
| Announcement context | Date reported |
|---|---|
| UPPSC 2024 calendar listing, reported in June | October 27, 2024 |
| Revised dates reported November 6 | December 7 and 8, 2024 |
| Later revised schedule reported November 15–18 | December 22, 2024, in two sessions |
Hindustan Times reported October 27 as the calendar date in June. See its June 4 report. On November 6, The Indian Express reported December 7–8 as the revised dates. See The Indian Express report. The later December 22 schedule was reported by Hindustan Times and Scroll.in, which noted the earlier two-day plan. Read Scroll.in’s November 18 coverage.

December 22, 2024, is the final date reported in the November coverage; the December 7–8 dates were an earlier plan, and October 27 was the original calendar listing. Since all of these dates have passed, candidates preparing for a later cycle should not rely on this schedule. Check the official UPPSC website for current examination notices and dates.
