Veterans may see two VA disability compensation deposits in January, July and October 2026. The second deposit in each month is a regularly scheduled payment moved earlier because the next month begins on a weekend—not an extra benefit or bonus. The beginning-of-month deposit generally covers the preceding benefit month.

Which months have two VA disability deposits in 2026?

The scheduled months are January, July and October. The 2026 schedule reference lists January 30, July 31 and October 30 as shifted payment dates. Those end-of-month deposits sit alongside the usual deposit near the start of each month, creating two deposits within the same calendar month. Military.com’s 2026 VA disability payment schedule lists the dates; check your VA account history for the transactions recorded for you.

Calendar month Shifted scheduled date Why it falls before the next month
January 2026 January 30 February 1 falls on Sunday.
July 2026 July 31 August 1 falls on Saturday.
October 2026 October 30 November 1 falls on Sunday.

The dates above are schedule dates, not a guarantee of the day a particular bank will post a deposit. The cited calendar is a Military.com reference rather than a consolidated VA calendar; your personal payment history is the best way to verify transactions for your account.

Why can two payments arrive in the same month?

VA compensation is organized by benefit month, while deposits appear on calendar dates. A payment near the beginning of a month generally relates to the preceding benefit month. When the first day of the following month falls on a weekend or holiday, its scheduled payment may be shifted earlier. In January, July and October 2026, that shift puts the next scheduled deposit near the end of the same calendar month as the beginning-of-month deposit.

So two deposits in January, July or October do not mean two payments for that same benefit month. They reflect the monthly payment schedule crossing calendar-month boundaries.

How to confirm your own VA payment record

  1. Go to VA’s Review Your VA Payment History page.
  2. Sign in and review the payment transactions shown for your account, including their recorded dates and amounts.
  3. If you want alerts for recurring disability or pension deposits, check the notification options described on the payment-history page.

Your account record is more useful than a general calendar for confirming when a payment was recorded for you.

Payment timing is different from payment amount

The calendar pattern does not determine how much compensation you receive. VA says amounts can depend on factors including disability rating, eligible dependents, certain severe-disability or spouse circumstances, and specified offsets or incarceration. The VA’s current disability compensation rates page lists 2026 rates effective December 1, 2025; the applicable amount depends on the veteran’s circumstances.

For a newly awarded rating of at least 10%, VA says the first payment should arrive within 15 days of the decision notice, by direct deposit or check. That is guidance about an initial payment, not the recurring calendar pattern discussed here. See What To Expect After You Get A Disability Rating for details.
