Deana Cannatelli said she found a hair ribbon and Mazda car keys in the pockets of a jacket she ordered from The Iconic, according to a PerthNow report published on 1 August 2025. The report records her suspicion that the jacket had been returned and poorly repacked; it does not establish how the items ended up there.
What Cannatelli said she found
PerthNow reported that Cannatelli ordered a green Lover brand jacket from The Iconic after it returned to stock and was listed as the last one available. She said the parcel arrived with the jacket inside out, creased and poorly repacked, leading her to suspect it was a return.
When she tried it on, Cannatelli said she found a hair ribbon and a set of Mazda car keys in its pockets. PerthNow quoted her appeal: “If anyone has bought and returned a green jacket from The Iconic, the brand Lover, I have your car keys.” The report does not identify the jacket model or the vehicle model.
What is known about the retailer’s response
Cannatelli said she had tried to contact The Iconic but was communicating with a bot rather than a person. She told PerthNow: “I’ve tried to reach out to The Iconic and I am talking to a bot and I can’t talk to a human.” PerthNow says it contacted The Iconic for comment, but the article includes no response.

The report gives no later resolution, confirmation that the keys were returned, or account from a previous customer. It also does not independently verify that the jacket was a return or explain how the ribbon and keys came to be in its pockets.
