How to remove press-on nails without forcing them
Ulta recommends soaking nails in warm, soapy water for 10–15 minutes; cuticle oil is optional. Gently lift from an edge. If a nail resists, soak longer rather than pulling or prying it off. Reviewed’s 2022 Olive & June tester also described soaking and using the set’s wooden stick, but the current set may differ.
Safety and what wear-time claims mean
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration advises: “Consumers should read labels of nail products carefully and follow any warnings.” It also notes: “Infections and allergic reactions can occur with some nail products.” Nail products should not be described as FDA-approved: FDA says cosmetics and their ingredients generally do not need premarket approval, with an exception for most color additives. Allure’s up-to-two-week figure is its author’s reported experience with glue after proper prep, not a promise. Reviewed’s roughly one-week observation came from a 2022 test of a particular Olive & June set. Those figures should not be read as a head-to-head ranking.
