Byron Allen’s reported $82.5 million sale of a Manhattan apartment topped Architectural Digest’s list of the most expensive celebrity real estate transactions of 2025. The ranking also includes purchases, property sales and a large ranch-land acquisition, so it is not a list of ten celebrity home purchases—or a complete census of every celebrity deal.
How to read the 2025 celebrity real estate ranking
Architectural Digest published its “10 Most Expensive Celebrity Real Estate Transactions of 2025” feature on December 12, 2025. The figures below are the transactions as that publication reported them; they have not been independently verified here against deeds or closing records. The list is an editorial selection, not a comprehensive registry of all celebrity-related real estate activity. Architectural Digest’s 2025 list includes purchases, sales and land, which makes transaction type important when comparing the amounts.
The 10 most expensive reported celebrity real estate transactions
| Rank | Celebrity | Reported amount and transaction | Property and location |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Byron Allen | $82.5 million sale | Off-market, full-floor, 6,600-square-foot unit at 220 Central Park South, Manhattan |
| 2 | Mark Zuckerberg | At least $65 million purchase | About 1,000 acres of ranch land on Kauai, Hawaii |
| 3 | Paris Hilton | $63.1 million purchase | Former Mark Wahlberg estate in Beverly Park, Los Angeles; 30,500-square-foot home on six acres |
| 4 | Jeff Bezos | $63 million sale | 9,420-square-foot mansion in Hunts Point, Washington |
| 5 | Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo | $60 million sale | Georgian-style home in Montecito, California |
| 6 | George Lucas | $52.3 million purchase | Off-market mansion in St. John’s Wood, London |
| 7 | The Weeknd | $50 million purchase | Mansion in Coral Gables, Florida, with 1.24 acres and 574 feet of water frontage |
| 8 | Robbie Williams | $40 million purchase | Waterfront home in Miami, formerly owned by Nicole Martin |
| 9 | Jake Paul | $39 million purchase | 5,653-acre ranch in Georgia, with a main house and three other homes |
| 10 | Mark Wahlberg | $37 million purchase | Palazzo di Lago, an 18,000-square-foot mansion in Delray Beach, Florida |
The amounts and descriptions in the table reflect Architectural Digest’s report. The feature does not provide consistent square footage for all ten properties, so a meaningful price-per-square-foot comparison across the ranking is not possible. Architectural Digest
What the biggest transactions show
Byron Allen’s $82.5 million sale leads this list
Allen reportedly sold his full-floor unit at 220 Central Park South off market in spring 2025. Architectural Digest says he bought it in 2023 for $75 million. The difference between those reported prices is $7.5 million, but it is not a measure of net profit: the available account does not give transaction costs, taxes or other terms.
#1 Best Overall
Zuckerberg’s deal was for land, not a conventional residence
The second-ranked entry is Mark Zuckerberg’s reported purchase of about 1,000 acres of ranch land on Kauai for at least $65 million. Architectural Digest says the purchase expanded his reported holdings on the island to more than 2,300 acres. Because this is a land acquisition, its price is not directly comparable to the sale or purchase of a finished home.
Several entries are sales rather than purchases
Bezos reportedly sold his Hunts Point mansion for $63 million in April. Architectural Digest says he bought the property in 2019 for $37.5 million and describes the 2025 sale as a Washington state record; that record characterization is the publication’s claim. Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo reportedly sold their Montecito home for $60 million in October, after paying $52 million in 2022. A reported sale price does not, by itself, establish an owner’s proceeds or profit after costs.
Levine and Prinsloo’s Montecito purchases were separate deals
The couple’s reported $60 million sale is distinct from two nearby purchases reported by Realtor.com on December 11, 2025. The outlet says they paid $17.27 million for a Spanish-style Montecito home formerly owned by Oprah Winfrey, and also bought another nearby property for $12.5 million. These purchases should not be combined with the sale price as though they were one transaction. Realtor.com’s report on the Oprah-owned home says Winfrey bought it from Jeff Bridges in 2019 for $6.85 million.
Realtor.com describes the $17.27 million purchase as off market and says the couple planned extensive renovations. That is a reported plan, not evidence that the work was completed. The sale had first been reported without the buyer’s identity by Siteline Santa Barbara, according to Realtor.com. Realtor.com
Why this is not a ranking of the year’s priciest U.S. home sales
Redfin’s January 5, 2026 release about the ten most expensive U.S. home sales of 2025 uses a different scope from Architectural Digest’s celebrity-focused selection. Redfin reported a $133 million Naples sale at the top of its general-market list and said each of its top ten homes sold for more than $60 million. Those figures do not contradict the celebrity ranking: the lists cover different transactions and use different inclusion criteria. Redfin’s 2025 U.S. home-sales list
