Teradata announced Enterprise AgentStack on January 27, 2026, describing an integrated toolkit for building AI agents, connecting them to enterprise data, running them across cloud and on-premises environments, and managing their use. The announcement lays out a four-part lifecycle, but Teradata’s production-readiness and speed claims are vendor assertions—not independently demonstrated results.
What Enterprise AgentStack includes
Teradata presents Enterprise AgentStack as an open, connected stack intended to address the handoffs between agent development, data access, deployment, and oversight. Its four named components are:

| Lifecycle role | Component | Teradata’s description |
|---|---|---|
| Build | AgentBuilder | Creates agents using no-code and pro-code frameworks. The January launch announcement named Karini.ai, LangGraph, CrewAI, and Flowise. |
| Connect | Enterprise MCP | Provides curated tools, prompts, and resources to connect agents with Teradata capabilities and enterprise data or systems. |
| Run | AgentEngine | Runs individual agents, multi-agent systems, and framework-based workflows across cloud and on-premises environments. |
| Govern | AgentOps | Offers a centralized interface for discovery, monitoring, lifecycle management, policies, guardrails, evaluations, compliance checks, and human review. |
These are capabilities as Teradata describes them in its January 27, 2026 launch announcement; the announcement does not establish independent results for them.

Build agents with AgentBuilder
AgentBuilder is the development layer. Teradata says it supports both no-code and pro-code approaches, including the frameworks named in the launch announcement. Its current product FAQ says AgentBuilder is installed separately from Vantage and currently requires a front end—Flowise—and the Teradata MCP server.
#1 Best Overall
Connect through Enterprise MCP
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) layer is intended to give agents controlled access to data and tools. Teradata lists use cases such as querying structured and unstructured data, analytics, document extraction, semantic search, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), metadata discovery, and SQL generation or optimization. The current product page says the Teradata MCP server can connect to VantageCloud Enterprise or VantageCloud Lake.
Teradata says there is no specific Vantage version restriction for the setup described on its product page, but recommends version 17.20 or later for advanced MCP features such as vector store. That recommendation is specific to those features, not a general minimum requirement stated for every setup.
Run agents with AgentEngine
Teradata describes AgentEngine as a runtime for single agents, multi-agent systems, and workflows built with agent frameworks. Its launch announcement says deployments use Docker and Kubernetes across cloud and on-premises environments. The current product page distinguishes Kubernetes for cloud deployments from TMS for on-premises setups; its FAQ says the MCP supports RPM, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Manage the lifecycle with AgentOps
AgentOps is described as the operational and governance layer. Its announced functions include monitoring, policy enforcement, guardrails, evaluation, compliance checks, and human-in-the-loop controls. These functions address common enterprise concerns about oversight and accountability, but the launch materials do not provide independent evaluations of their effectiveness or implementation details sufficient to assess them.

Availability: the original plan and what was later confirmed
Teradata’s January 27 launch announcement said Enterprise AgentStack would be “Available on cloud in Q2 and on-prem later in the year.” That is the original schedule, not confirmation that each component became available on those dates.
On July 15, 2026, Teradata announced general availability of its broader Autonomous Knowledge Platform across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. That announcement does not explicitly confirm that Enterprise AgentStack’s individual components met the original component-specific schedule. Readers evaluating a deployment should confirm current component availability directly with Teradata.
What Teradata’s performance and market figures do—and do not—show
The launch announcement uses the phrase “in minutes—not months” for moving from concept to an intelligent agent. Teradata Chief Product Officer Sumeet Arora made that claim while describing the platform; it is not a measured or independently verified setup time. The announcement also calls the stack “production-ready,” but does not supply independent customer results or performance testing to substantiate that characterization.
- Teradata’s release attributes a finding to Boston Consulting Group that AI “future-built” organizations achieve five times the revenue increases of peers. The underlying BCG publication was not identified in the cited materials, so this should be treated as Teradata’s report of BCG’s finding, not independently verified evidence about AgentStack.
- The release reports that 93% of respondents faced challenges creating governance and guardrails for AI initiatives, citing a NewtonX survey conducted for Teradata. The announcement does not specify the survey year, and the underlying survey report or instrument is not provided in the cited material.
Neither statistic measures AgentStack’s performance or shows that adopting it produces a particular business outcome.

Practical questions to resolve before a deployment
- Availability: Confirm which AgentStack components and deployment options are currently available for your environment; the later general-availability announcement covers the broader platform, not explicitly the component schedule.
- Setup: Account for AgentBuilder’s separate installation and the Flowise front end and Teradata MCP server described in the current product FAQ.
- Compatibility: Check your Vantage environment and whether you need advanced MCP features for which Teradata recommends version 17.20 or later.
- Licensing and cost: The product page says Flowise and the Teradata MCP server are open source and currently have no associated cost, while new features coming in 2026 will include additional costs. This is not complete AgentStack pricing or licensing guidance.
- Evidence: Ask for customer-specific production references, security and governance details, and measured results relevant to your workloads. The launch announcement alone does not provide that validation.
For implementation help, Teradata’s July platform announcement describes its AI Services as helping organizations identify use cases, build agent-driven solutions, and put AI into production. Teradata also lists Karini AI as a partner associated with AgentStack and no-code agent development. These are vendor and partner pathways, not independent endorsements.
