The figure is an aggregate reported by media outlets—not a publicly verified payroll ledger—and it does not show how much any individual received.
What the $197 million figure covers
ABC Audio attributed the $197 million total to People’s report about bonuses given to the Eras Tour team over the tour’s two-year span. The cited reporting does not provide an audited accounting statement, payment records, or a complete breakdown by recipient or job. ABC Audio’s December 9, 2024 report is the source for the figure and the roles it names.
The reported recipients span many touring functions: truck drivers, caterers, instrument technicians, merchandise staff, lighting and sound teams, production staff, assistants, carpenters, dancers, band members, security, choreographers, pyrotechnicians, riggers, hair and makeup artists, wardrobe staff, physical therapists, and video team members. The reporting refers to tour employees and crew; it does not establish payments to every venue employee or local contractor.
Did every crew member receive the same bonus?
No equal payment is established. The reported $197 million is a total, and the available reporting does not state the number of recipients or how the money was allocated by person or role. Dividing the aggregate by an assumed headcount would produce an unsupported average, not a reported individual bonus.

The total also concerns bonuses, not a stated amount of regular salary or wages. The cited sources do not give details that would allow a reader to calculate total compensation for any worker.
How the earlier $55 million report relates
ABC Audio noted that People had reported more than $55 million in bonuses in August 2023. That was an earlier public update, not a separate figure to add to the later $197 million aggregate; the reporting does not establish a distinct cumulative total beyond the $197 million figure.

In December 2025, the Associated Press referred to the reported $197 million total while covering the Disney+ docuseries The End of an Era. AP described footage highlighting the bonus decision and handwritten letters, but said the series does not reveal individual amounts. The Associated Press’s December 12, 2025 coverage offers that later visual account; it does not supply a payment breakdown.
