Current Starbucks Australia listings confirm operating drive-through stores at Piara Waters and Tapping in Wanneroo, but the available listings do not verify that all 12 forecast cafes opened.
What Starbucks announced for Western Australia
On 27 June 2024, PerthNow reported that Starbucks Coffee Australia expected to open three cafes before Christmas: Piara Waters, Clarkson and Murdoch. The report said each would have a drive-through and seating for customers who wanted to dine in.
The same report forecast nine additional cafes for early 2025, naming Hammond Park, Butler and Bayswater as examples. That was a plan announced in 2024, not confirmation of completed openings. The report did not specify the other six locations in the cited passage.
Which Western Australian Starbucks locations are confirmed now?
Piara Waters
Starbucks Australia currently identifies Piara Waters as its first store to open in Western Australia. Its official Piara Waters store page lists the address as 12 Erade Drive, Piara Waters WA 6112, and says the store has a drive-through and parking. The page checked listed hours of 5:00am–10:00pm on weekdays and 6:00am–10:00pm on weekends; check the live listing before travelling because hours can change.

Tapping, Wanneroo
Starbucks Australia also lists a store at 1351 Wanneroo Road, Wanneroo WA, on its Tapping store page. The listing identifies a drive-through and showed daily hours of 6:00am–7:00pm when checked. Confirm the current hours on the official page.
These listings establish that Piara Waters and Tapping were operating and offered drive-through service when their pages were checked. They do not provide a complete current Western Australian store count or confirm the status of every suburb in the 2024 forecast. Starbucks Australia’s Western Australia page describes an initial focus on Perth growth areas north, east and south of the CBD, but does not enumerate every store.

Did all 12 forecast cafes open?
The available information does not establish that they did. The three initial locations and nine additional cafes were reported as expected openings in 2024 and early 2025. The current official listings cited here confirm Piara Waters and Tapping, but do not reconcile the full forecast against completed openings. In particular, do not treat Clarkson, Murdoch, Hammond Park, Butler and Bayswater as confirmed solely because they appeared in the announcement.

PerthNow described the planned cafes as places offering both drive-through service and indoor seating. Its 2024 report said the announced menu would include flat whites, Caramel Macchiatos, Frappuccinos and refreshers, as well as toasties, cakes, doughnuts, salads and pastries. That was the offer described at announcement time, not a guarantee of the current menu at every Western Australian store; product ranges vary and change.

- Open the official Starbucks Australia listing for the location, such as the Piara Waters or Tapping page.
- Confirm the street address, drive-through availability and current opening hours on that listing.
- For a suburb mentioned in the 2024 announcement but not confirmed in the listings above, use Starbucks Australia’s Western Australia page or store locator rather than assuming the planned cafe opened.
