The company said it would use the funding to develop and expand its enterprise platform for testing and protecting AI agents and applications. The announcement is a historical milestone: SplxAI later rebranded as SPLX and announced its acquisition by Zscaler in November 2025.
What SplxAI announced in March 2025
The company said the seed financing would accelerate development and adoption of an enterprise AI security platform. Its stated focus was on internal AI agents and customer-facing AI applications, with tools for automated security testing, dynamic remediation and continuous monitoring. SplxAI did not disclose a round valuation, financing instrument or detailed allocation of the proceeds in its announcement.
LAUNCHub Ventures led the round. SplxAI named Rain Capital, Inovo, Runtime Ventures, DNV Ventures and South Central Ventures as participating investors; DNV Ventures also confirmed its investment in a separate announcement. SplxAI’s March 26 announcement said LAUNCHub General Partner Stan Sirakov would join the board and Sandy Dunn, formerly CISO of Brand Engagement Network, would join as CISO. Those were appointments announced at the time, not confirmation of current roles.
SecurityWeek reported that the round brought the company’s total fundraising to $9 million. That cumulative figure is SecurityWeek’s report; SplxAI’s announcement centered on the new $7 million round. Neither source established an independent valuation of the company.

What the AI security platform was designed to do
SplxAI described its platform as testing AI systems against adversarial scenarios delivered through text, image and voice inputs. The company said it targeted risks such as prompt injection, off-topic responses and hallucinations, and combined testing with ongoing monitoring and remediation. These are company descriptions of intended capabilities; they are not independent test results or evidence of measured risk reduction.
SplxAI reported 127% quarter-over-quarter growth since launching its platform in August 2024. The figure was a company-reported metric, also repeated by DNV Ventures, and was not presented as independently audited data. The funding materials also cited a forecast that 33% of enterprise applications would incorporate agentic AI by 2028; the announcement did not give an external original source for that forecast, so it should not be treated as a verified industry statistic.

How the company and product changed afterward
On July 30, 2025, the company announced a rebrand as SPLX and an expanded lifecycle-security platform. It said the update added AI Runtime Protection and embedded guardrails alongside its other security functions. That description reflects the company’s product announcement, not a third-party evaluation. SPLX’s July update documents the rebrand and stated expansion.
On November 3, 2025, SPLX announced that it had been acquired by Zscaler. Accordingly, SplxAI is best described as the company that raised the seed round and later became SPLX before the acquisition announcement—not as an independent company today. SPLX’s acquisition announcement records that development. The sources cited here do not establish current product availability, integration status or branding after the acquisition.

What the funding announcement does—and does not—show
The round demonstrates that investors backed SplxAI’s effort to build security tools for enterprise AI systems; it does not establish that the product prevented attacks, outperformed alternatives or achieved independently validated results. The available announcements do not specify valuation, instrument, a line-item use of proceeds or independently verified efficacy metrics. For a financing reader, the most useful distinction is between the confirmed transaction terms—the announced amount and named participants—and performance or market claims attributed to the company.
