SpaceX completed a five-for-one forward stock split in May 2026, so a SpaceX stock split is no longer hypothetical. The company later completed its IPO in June 2026; its Class A shares began trading as SPCX on Nasdaq Global Select Market and Nasdaq Texas on June 12.
Will SpaceX do a stock split?
SpaceX has already done one. Its SEC-filed Q2 2026 report says the company effected a five-for-one forward split in May 2026 covering its authorized, issued, and outstanding Class A, Class B, and Class C common shares. Read SpaceX’s Q2 2026 SEC filing.

In a five-for-one split, each affected share becomes five shares of the same class. SpaceX also says it adjusted the preferred-stock conversion rate proportionately and retrospectively adjusted historical per-share data in its financial statements.
What does a 5-for-1 SpaceX stock split mean?
The split changes the number of shares and the per-share figures, but not an investor’s proportional ownership by itself. For example, a holder of one affected share would have five shares after the split; the split alone does not make that holder’s stake more valuable. The company’s filing describes the share conversion and related adjustments, not a market-value effect.
When did SpaceX shares start trading, and what is the ticker?
