Is Toyota bringing back the Stout?
Not in the Toyota U.S. sources reviewed for this article. Toyota’s truck-family lineup lists Tacoma, Tundra, 4Runner, Sequoia, and Land Cruiser; its newsroom listings include current Tacoma and Tundra entries but do not identify a new Stout. The Stout is a real historical Toyota pickup. Toyota’s vehicle history records a third-generation model introduced in March 1979 and says production ended in March 1989. Toyota’s historical vehicle archive documents that lineage.
When will a Toyota Stout be released?
No release date is available from the reviewed official sources. They do not announce a launch, accept reservations, or provide a purchase schedule for a new Stout. Until Toyota publishes those details, a date circulating elsewhere should not be treated as a confirmed buying deadline.

How much should you save?
There is no confirmed modern-Stout price in the reviewed Toyota sources, so there is no evidence-based target amount to recommend. Avoid building a savings plan around a rumored price or assuming the truck will arrive on a particular schedule.
You can still save toward the broader goal of buying a pickup. Choose a target based on a vehicle you can actually price, then account for costs beyond the purchase price—such as taxes, registration, insurance, financing, and ongoing fuel and maintenance. Keep that money earmarked for a truck generally rather than treating it as a Stout fund with a known endpoint. If Toyota confirms a Stout later, revise the target using its published price and specifications.

What are the Toyota Stout specs?
No current specifications for a modern Stout are established in the reviewed official sources. Toyota’s historical records describe older vehicles only; their figures should not be used to estimate a new pickup’s engine, payload, dimensions, or capability.

What can you compare while you wait?
Toyota’s currently listed pickups, Tacoma and Tundra, provide real-world comparison points if you need a truck before any Stout announcement. Use current model-year information for the specific configuration you would buy. For a useful comparison, match cab style and drivetrain, then check price, bed and body dimensions, powertrain, fuel economy, towing, payload, warranty, and safety equipment.
Those models are context, not stand-ins for a hypothetical Stout. Their prices, capability, or equipment cannot establish what a future Stout would cost or offer. Toyota’s current lineup is listed at Toyota.com.

A practical savings plan for an unconfirmed truck
- Set a flexible goal. Base it on a currently available pickup you can verify, or choose a general truck-buying fund rather than a speculative Stout price.
- Keep the money accessible and separate. A dedicated savings account can make progress easier to track without committing you to a vehicle that has not been announced.
- Recheck official information before changing plans. Look for a Toyota announcement and a vehicle listing with actual pricing, specifications, and availability—not a rendering or an unverified claim.
- Rebuild the budget if a Stout is confirmed. Compare its verified purchase price and ownership costs with the truck you would otherwise buy, then decide whether waiting still makes financial sense.
