What Sega’s sales table showed
The figures appeared in a table titled “Full Game: Unit Sales of Major IPs” in SEGA SAMMY HOLDINGS’ Management Meeting 2025 presentation script. The table reports sales in thousands of units by fiscal year and provides cumulative totals for 11 games. The presentation is dated June 18, 2025, and its slide carries the notice “Some content is currently under adjustment.” SEGA SAMMY’s investor-relations library lists the Management Meeting 2025 materials.

How many copies did each game sell?
The presentation’s table is expressed in thousands. The figures below convert its cumulative totals to millions of units.

These are SEGA SAMMY’s cumulative unit figures in its 2025 presentation, covering FY2020/3 through FY2025/3. The presentation does not break out separate sales for the versions noted above.
Why Persona 5 Royal’s total stood out
Persona 5 Royal was already listed at 1.03 million units in FY2020/3 and reached 7.25 million cumulatively by the table’s final fiscal year. The total includes the remaster released in FY2023/3, so it is not a figure for the original release alone.

Sonic Frontiers illustrates a different sales timeline: the table lists 3.20 million in FY2023/3, its first listed sales year, and 4.57 million cumulatively. These examples show that the presentation counted continued sales in later fiscal years rather than only an initial launch period.

They measure units, not financial performance
The table reports full-game unit sales. It does not provide revenue, profit, price paid, platform or regional mix, development budgets, commercial targets, or title-level expectations. A raw unit ranking therefore cannot establish which game was most profitable or whether a title succeeded against its budget and targets.

Some totals include more than one version
The table explicitly says Persona 5 Royal includes its remaster and Shin Megami Tensei V includes Vengeance. Because the presentation does not separate their contributions, those totals should not be read as sales of only one edition.
The company’s explanation is not proof of cause
SEGA SAMMY used Persona 5 Royal and Sonic Frontiers to illustrate continued sales in subsequent years. The script says, “Certain numbers of units continue to be sold in subsequent years and keep contributing,” and attributes the trend to transmedia development and digital-sales strategies. That is the company’s explanation; the table itself does not establish that those strategies caused the later sales.
