Partnerize announced its acquisition of Seattle-based BrandVerity on April 30, 2020. BrandVerity’s software monitored paid-search ads for trademark violations and checked partner content for regulatory compliance and accurate brand offers. Partnerize said the tools would be available to its clients while continuing as standalone offerings at the time.

What did BrandVerity do?

BrandVerity was a business-to-business software company focused on online brand protection, particularly in affiliate and partner marketing. Its tools addressed two distinct tasks:

  • Paid Search Monitoring: identified potential trademark violations in paid-search advertising and supported remediation.
  • Web Compliance: checked partner content for regulatory compliance and for accurate brand messages and offers.

These capabilities were relevant to partnership programs in which third parties publish ads, offers, and other brand-related content. Partnerize’s acquisition announcement described the two products, while GeekWire’s May 8, 2020 report characterized BrandVerity as a Seattle startup whose tools monitored paid search and affiliate activity.

What did Partnerize say about the deal?

Partnerize said BrandVerity’s compliance capabilities would reach more companies through its platform and be available to Partnerize clients. At announcement, it also said BrandVerity’s solutions would continue as standalone offerings. The announcements reviewed did not disclose the purchase price, transaction structure, or other deal terms. BrandVerity’s announcement and Partnerize’s announcement provide the companies’ statements about the transaction.

#1 Best Overall

Partnerize co-founder and CEO Mal Cowley called integrating BrandVerity “a game-changer for partnership marketing.” BrandVerity CEO David Naffziger said transparency and brand protection could benefit brands, partners, and consumers. These were executives’ views on the deal, not independently measured outcomes.

Where does BrandVerity fit today?

In a March 23, 2021 announcement, Partnerize said it had integrated technology from its 2020 acquisitions, including BrandVerity, into a broader partnership automation solution. That statement establishes the company’s description of integration, but does not specify technical architecture, customer migration, or measured results. Partnerize’s 2021 announcement gives that account.

Partnerize’s current Protect product page describes Protect as “powered by BrandVerity.” It positions the service around partnership brand safety, fraud detection, paid-search monitoring, and web compliance. This links BrandVerity technology to a current Partnerize service; it does not establish that every legacy standalone plan remains available unchanged.

What the acquisition announcement does—and does not—tell us

Partnerize’s April 30, 2020 announcement said brands received 20–30% of their impressions through partnership channels. That is a historical figure stated by Partnerize at the time, not a current or independently verified industry statistic. It supplied context for the company’s interest in partnership marketing, rather than a valuation or financial result from the acquisition. Partnerize’s 2020 announcement is the source of the figure.

The public statements establish the companies’ announced plans and later product positioning, but they do not reveal what Partnerize paid, how the transaction was structured, or the acquisition’s financial performance.
