A Perth couple in their 50s reportedly won $1.05 million in Saturday Lotto after buying a ticket at AP Newsagency in Byford. According to a PerthNow report published on 19 December 2024, the wife checked the numbers on Saturday night, discovered all six matched and celebrated with her daughter.
How the couple discovered the win
The winner told PerthNow that she checked the numbers on Saturday night, even though she said she did not usually do so: “For some reason I checked the numbers on Saturday night, which I never usually do, but something made me check.”
After realizing all six numbers matched, she celebrated with her daughter. Her husband initially mistook the commotion for an emergency. The report describes the win as “totally surreal” and quotes the winner saying it would make the family’s lives “much more comfortable.”
