Short answer: Samsung really did offer an unlocked Galaxy S24 Ultra with 512GB of storage at the 256GB model’s advertised $1,299 price, plus Galaxy Buds2 Pro at no additional charge. However, SamMobile reported the promotion on May 20, 2024, and there is no evidence in the supplied research that the same offer remains available in September 2026. Treat it as an expired historical deal unless Samsung’s current checkout page confirms otherwise.
SamMobile’s original report described the offer as part of Samsung’s Discover Summer Sale.

What the original Galaxy S24 Ultra deal included
| Offer element | Historical detail |
|---|---|
| Phone | Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra |
| Storage | 512GB configuration |
| Advertised price | $1,299, described as the 256GB model’s price |
| Included accessory | Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro |
| Earbuds’ stated value | $229 at the time |
| Trade-in | Optional, not required for the bundle |
| Additional trade-in savings | Up to $750 for eligible devices |
| Reported | May 20, 2024 |
| Status in 2026 | Historical and unverified as a live offer |
The storage promotion meant receiving a higher-capacity phone configuration for the lower-capacity model’s advertised price. It did not mean that Samsung would add expandable storage later, provide a cloud-storage subscription, or upgrade a 256GB phone after purchase.
Was a trade-in required?
No. The reported storage upgrade and Galaxy Buds2 Pro were available without trading in another phone. Trade-in was a separate way to reduce the purchase price, with savings of up to $750 for eligible devices.

That maximum was not a guaranteed discount. Samsung trade-in value can depend on the exact model, storage capacity, condition, screen damage, activation status, carrier lock, and completion of the required trade-in process. Anyone considering a current trade-in should use Samsung’s official trade-in page for a device-specific quote rather than relying on the old maximum.
Which earbuds were free?
The reported accessory was the Galaxy Buds2 Pro, not a later Samsung earbuds model. SamMobile described them as having a $229 value at the time. That figure was the promotion’s stated value, not necessarily cash savings that every buyer would have realized elsewhere.

Promotional accessories can also require a separate selection, a promotional code, account sign-in, or a qualifying configuration. If the earbuds do not appear in the final order summary at a $0 promotional price, the buyer should not assume they are included.

- Start at Samsung’s official U.S. smartphone store: samsung.com/us/smartphones.
- Select the exact Galaxy S24 Ultra configuration and confirm that it is the 512GB model.
- Check whether the displayed phone price is actually the 256GB model’s price rather than a current or third-party price.
- Confirm that the phone is unlocked and that the selected color and configuration qualify.
- Check whether Galaxy Buds2 Pro are automatically added, must be added separately, or are discounted to $0.
- Review the complete cart before payment, including the phone, earbuds, taxes, shipping, financing terms, and any trade-in credit.
- Save the order summary and promotion terms until the return and trade-in processes are complete.
If the accessory is missing, possible explanations include an expired promotion, exhausted inventory, an excluded color or storage option, a regional restriction, or a requirement to add the earbuds manually. The cart—not an old headline—is the final test.
Why the S24 Ultra was attractive
The Galaxy S24 Ultra was Samsung’s premium flagship when the promotion ran. Its relevant hardware highlights included:
Rank #4
- BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY: Features Bluetooth 5.4 technology for stable, high-quality wireless audio streaming and seamless device pairing
- NOISE CANCELLATION: Active Noise Cancellation technology helps block out unwanted ambient sounds for immersive listening
- BATTERY LIFE: Extended playback time of up to 35 hours of continuous music playback for all-day entertainment
- MODEL DETAILS: Latest 2025 Galaxy Buds Core model (SM-R410) featuring modern design and intuitive touch controls
- Part #: SM-R410NZWALTA
- A titanium frame
- An anti-reflective Gorilla Armor display surface
- A built-in S Pen
- Dual telephoto camera hardware
- A periscope-style telephoto camera offering 5× optical zoom
Those features help explain the bundle’s premium positioning, but they do not make the historical $1,299 price current. The phone’s value in 2026 depends on its current price, remaining software support, condition, warranty, and comparison with newer Galaxy models.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesDoes the deal still make sense in 2026?
Usually, do not buy the S24 Ultra in 2026 simply because an old page promises free earbuds. The phone may still be appealing if you specifically want the S Pen, large display, high-end cameras, or 512GB capacity and can find a sealed, unlocked unit at a substantial discount.

Be more cautious if the price is close to the historical $1,299 figure. A newer Galaxy Ultra may provide longer remaining support and newer processing, camera, battery, or AI features. A discounted prior-generation Ultra, current non-Ultra flagship, or carefully checked certified-refurbished model may offer better value depending on the price gap.
Later S24 Ultra discounts were reported in December 2025, but that coverage does not establish that the 2024 free-Buds2-Pro and storage-upgrade bundle is active now. Check Samsung’s current smartphone listings and cart rather than treating a resurfaced search result as a current promotion.
When the historical bundle was compelling
- You wanted the S24 Ultra specifically and valued its S Pen and camera system.
- You wanted 512GB storage and expected to keep the phone for several years.
- You valued the Galaxy Buds2 Pro and would have bought compatible earbuds anyway.
- You preferred an unlocked phone.
- You wanted the headline benefits without depending on a trade-in.
When to skip it
- The seller asks close to $1,299 for old stock in 2026.
- A newer Galaxy Ultra is similarly priced.
- You are buying only because of the supposedly free earbuds.
- The listing is refurbished, imported, carrier-locked, or vague about warranty coverage.
- You do not need 512GB because you mainly stream media and use cloud storage.
- The accessory does not appear in the final order summary.

Where to check first
For current availability, begin with Samsung’s U.S. smartphone store. For current trade-in terms, use Samsung’s trade-in information page. Samsung’s U.S. audio store can help establish whether the Buds2 Pro are still sold directly, but a current standalone price is not evidence that the old bundle has returned.
Important: Do not publish or rely on a “buy now and get free earbuds” claim unless the live retailer cart confirms the eligible 512GB phone, active promotional price, included Buds2 Pro, applicable region, and complete order summary.
