What happens next—and what is not known
The next reported step is updating the airport master plan and airport layout plan, with FAA involvement. The News-Journal article says funding for the planning work is included in the city’s 2027–28 fiscal-year budget. Deaton reportedly favored using reserves to move faster, but the article does not say that this change was approved.
