Yes. The FDA posted a voluntary recall on July 8, 2025, for four carton sizes of RITZ Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches because some inner packs labeled “Cheese” may contain peanut butter. If you have a peanut allergy, check the carton identifiers below; do not eat a product that matches, and discard it.
Which RITZ crackers are included in the July 2025 recall?
The recall concerns cartons that may contain individually wrapped peanut-butter crackers in packaging labeled for cheese crackers. Match the UPC, Best When Used By date, and plant code on your carton against the FDA-listed details:

FDA also identifies the inner packs that may be mislabeled: 1.38 oz RITZ Cheese Cracker Sandwiches, UPC 0 44000 00211 4, with Best When Used By dates 1 NOV 25–9 NOV 25 and 2 JAN 26–22 JAN 26, plant AE. How to check your package
- Find the product name and carton size on the package.
- Compare its UPC with the table. The digits should match, including the leading zero where shown.
- Check the Best When Used By date and plant code, usually printed on the package. A match requires the listed product details; use all three identifiers rather than relying on the name alone.
- If your package matches and you have a peanut allergy or severe sensitivity, do not eat it. Discard it and contact Mondelēz at 1-844-366-1171 with questions.
Why the recall matters
The packaging mix-up means an inner pack marked as cheese crackers may instead contain peanut butter crackers, leaving peanut undeclared on that pack’s label. The FDA warns that people with a peanut allergy or severe sensitivity may experience serious or life-threatening allergic reactions. Mondelēz attributed the problem to defects in film packaging rolls used for individually wrapped peanut-butter products, caused by a supplier error. How the later, limited recall differs
A separate FDA notice dated November 28, 2025, concerned 70 cases of one 27.6 oz, 20-count SKU shipped to eight states. FDA lists that recall as completed and terminated. It is distinct from the July notice covering four carton sizes; its narrower details are:
- Product: 27.6 oz, 20-count RITZ Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches; UPC 44000 07584 2.
- Dates and plant: Best When Used By 8 JAN 26 and 15 JAN 26; plant AE.
- Distribution: New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Alabama.
- Status: FDA marks the limited recall completed and terminated. FDA’s November 28, 2025 notice
The November notice’s completed status applies to that limited recall; it does not change the identifiers published in the July notice.
