Seattle-based plant-based chicken maker Rebellyous Foods announced a $2.4 million extension of its Series B funding in January 2025. The company said it planned to use the money to grow sales in 2025 and continue research and development on its Mock 2 production system. Those were plans stated at the time of the announcement; the available reporting does not establish how the funds were ultimately spent.

GeekWire reported on January 8, 2025, that Rebellyous raised $2.4 million in a Series B extension. What is Mock 2?
GeekWire described Mock 2 as a fully continuous, automated system for processing chilled dough substrate into plant-based meat products. The company’s stated aim was to lower manufacturing costs compared with conventional methods. GeekWire reported a production capacity of 2,500 to 5,000 pounds per hour on one processing line and a partnership with RMS Foods at a New Mexico facility. Who founded Rebellyous Foods?
The January 2025 GeekWire article identified Christie Lagally as the company’s founder and CEO, said she previously worked as a Boeing engineer, and reported that she founded Rebellyous in 2017. That describes the company leadership as reported at that time, not necessarily its current leadership.
