A Western Australian entry won the entire $50 million Division One Powerball jackpot in the draw on Wednesday 12 November 2025. Lotterywest confirmed it was the only Division One-winning entry in Australia and that it was purchased online through its Play Online portal.
What happened in the $50 million Powerball draw?
The winning entry matched the Division One numbers in the Wednesday 12 November 2025 draw. PerthNow reported the numbers as 22, 10, 6, 15, 2, 8 and Powerball 13. Lotterywest’s release the following day confirmed that one Western Australian entry took the full $50 million jackpot, with no other Division One winner nationwide. Lotterywest’s 13 November announcement and PerthNow’s 14 November report covered the win.
The ticket was bought through Lotterywest Play Online, so there is no retail outlet to identify. Lotterywest said more than 178,000 other-division Powerball prizes were recorded across WA in the draw period and that the five-week jackpot roll generated $10.7 million for its grants program.
Why was the winner reported to be “in shock”?
In PerthNow’s 14 November report, Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said the winner was processing the news and would claim the prize when ready: “The winner is very much in shock processing this life-changing news, and they will be coming to Lotterywest HQ to claim their prize over the coming weeks when they’re ready,” she said.

Who won, and what did they say they would do?
Lotterywest identified the winners in a follow-up release on 19 November as a couple from Mandurah. The winning entry was a Slikpik 18 purchased online. The couple were not named in the release.
After visiting Lotterywest’s Winners Room, the winning man said: “We are in total shock, I only play every now and again, this kind of thing doesn’t happen to normal people like us.” He also described a hoped-for change in family life: “I’ve always dreamed of being a stay-at-home Dad and I can’t wait to make that a reality.” The couple said they hoped to spend more time with family, replace their gutters and add ceiling fans, while remaining in their home. These details appeared in Lotterywest’s 19 November follow-up, not in the initial news report.

How unusual is a Division One win?
Lotterywest’s current Powerball information says a standard game consists of seven main numbers drawn from 35 and one Powerball drawn from 20. It gives approximate Division One odds of 1 in 134,490,400 per standard game and overall odds of any prize of 1 in 44. These are current game figures, not a guarantee of the rules or odds for every historical draw. Lotterywest also says no skill or strategy changes the chance of winning. Lotterywest said the Mandurah couple were among four Division One Powerball winners in WA in 2025, whose prizes totalled $125 million. As of its 19 November release, the organisation said ticket sales had generated more than $92 million for its grants program that year. The $50 million November result was distinct from WA’s other jackpot wins that year, including a $30 million win in April and a $25 million win in October.
