Ginger Never Cries, the jewellery label of Perth designer Henrie Grochowski, made its Perth Upmarket debut on 16 June 2024 at Winthrop Hall, University of Western Australia. The label’s profile is rooted in one-off, wax-carved rings, colourful stones and organic forms—not a currently verified market schedule or product catalogue.
Who is behind Ginger Never Cries?
Designer Henrie Grochowski studied fashion design at South Metro TAFE and later taught fashion there, according to PerthNow’s 13 June 2024 profile. She returned to jewellery after receiving a jewellery-making course as a Christmas gift, and the profile credits Perth teacher Philip Noakes at Contemporary Metal.
The name appeared among the retailers for the 16 June 2024 event in Perth Upmarket’s official event listing. PerthNow placed the stall at E4, near the foyer entrance. That event has passed; the listing does not establish where or when the label next sells in person.
How does Ginger Never Cries make its jewellery?
PerthNow describes a ring-making process that starts with a bright blue tube of wax. Grochowski carves the wax, selects stones for their colour and shape, and cuts away excess wax to reveal the ring form before it is cast. The profile does not specify the tools or casting equipment.

Grochowski described the appeal of letting the shape emerge through carving: “You start with a piece of the wax and begin carving, not really knowing what it is going to become; I love that it’s organic and it becomes this beautiful, unique piece,” she told PerthNow.
That process helps explain the label’s emphasis on individual forms rather than identical pieces. As Grochowski put it, “No two pieces are the same even if I use a similar combination of stones or size of stones, they’re all going to be different, which I think is really quite special.”

What gives the designs their look?
The profile characterizes the work through bold pinks and greens, contrasting textures and organic forms. Grochowski linked her colour choices to her personal tastes, including her red hair, and said: “I have always been drawn to pinks and greens; that’s evident in my wardrobe, my home decor, my nail polish colours, everything.”

Which materials has the label used or considered?
Grochowski told PerthNow she had been using lab-grown stones, which she described as more affordable, and valued not having to be concerned about their origins or what happened in obtaining them. She was also exploring the possibility of using sea glass from Fremantle beaches. The profile describes sea glass as a material under consideration, not as a confirmed component of pieces for sale.

The label took part in Perth Upmarket on Sunday 16 June 2024 at Winthrop Hall, University of Western Australia, Stirling Highway, Crawley. Perth Upmarket’s event listing gave the hours as 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and said entry and parking were free. The organizer described that market as bringing together more than 180 Perth artists, designers, craftspeople and food vendors; that is its description of the June 2024 event, not an independently verified count.
