Those attributed presale figures do not show where traders as a group were heading: no representative trader survey or independent market study was established. The article’s preference for BlockDAG is promotional framing, not evidence that it was the better investment.
What the December 2024 figures actually tell you
TechBullion’s December 5, 2024 article reported $57 million raised for PEPU and more than $157 million for BlockDAG. The page labels the piece a “Company-submitted announcement,” so these are claims reported by that article—not audited totals or independently confirmed fundraising figures. Read the TechBullion article and its disclosure.
Even if accurate, fundraising totals measure money a project says it brought in; they do not measure the number of traders who preferred one token, the size or diversity of its user base, future demand, or investment performance. The headline’s question about where traders were heading is therefore not answered by the two totals.
How the projects described themselves
Pepe Unchained (PEPU)
PEPU’s whitepaper presents it as a meme-coin ecosystem with a dedicated Layer 2 built using the Arbitrum stack, and describes PumpPad v2 as its launchpad. Statements in the whitepaper about speed, fees, compatibility, and security are project claims, not independent benchmark findings. Read the PEPU whitepaper.

The whitepaper lists token allocations of 50% for community rewards, 20% for the presale, 10% for marketing, 10% for liquidity, 5% for project finance, and 5% for chain inventory. Those percentages describe the project’s stated tokenomics; they are not measures of adoption or performance.
BlockDAG (BDAG)
The comparison article favored BlockDAG, but it did not establish that preference as a broader trader trend or an investment case. BlockDAG’s official FAQ, accessed October 8, 2026, describes milestones including finalizing mainnet, delivering miners, reaching a $600 million presale target, and launching on partner exchanges. It also says physical miner shipments have begun and refers to X Series machines. PEPU’s dated sale and launch timeline
The project’s own news chronology says the PEPU presale was sold out on December 5, 2024, and that PEPU launched on December 10 at 14:00 UTC. Because this is a project-maintained chronology, it documents what the project reports rather than independently proving market conditions. See PEPU’s project news chronology.
WEEX later published a PEPU launch result dated December 31, 2024, reporting 14,165 participants and a trading start of December 31 at 08:00 UTC. What a personal-finance reader can reasonably conclude
- The reported sums are not a sentiment survey. Neither the TechBullion article nor the cited project and exchange announcements establishes which token traders collectively preferred.
- A launch or presale milestone is not a return record. A sold-out presale, launch date, participation count, or fundraising claim does not establish later price performance or the ability to sell at a particular price.
- Project descriptions are not independent verification. Architecture, roadmap, shipment, and exchange statements should be treated as claims from the named project unless independently corroborated.
- Risk is explicit in PEPU’s own document. The PEPU whitepaper says, “Please note that $PEPU does not constitute an investment,” and warns that PEPU may be highly volatile and users risk losing their crypto.
The defensible reading of the December 2024 headline is narrow: one company-submitted article reported larger fundraising for BlockDAG than for PEPU. It cannot establish a general direction among traders or determine which token was, or is, a suitable investment.
