USDA’s published schedule lists the October 2026 World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) report for October 9 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The official page does not confirm whether a current shutdown or lapse in appropriations will affect that schedule. Check USDA’s live WASDE page for an operational update before relying on the release time; the posted date is not confirmation that the report will arrive on schedule.
When is the October 2026 WASDE report scheduled?
USDA lists the October report for October 9, 2026, at noon Eastern Time. The same page provides links to the report in PDF, XML, Excel and text formats, and lists November 10 and December 10 as the remaining scheduled 2026 release dates. These are posted dates, not separate confirmation that operations are unaffected by a lapse in appropriations.
Will a shutdown delay the October WASDE?
The available official information does not establish whether a current shutdown is affecting the report or whether the October 9 release will be delayed. USDA’s FY2026 lapse plan describes contingency operations, but it is not a report-specific announcement about this release.
Until USDA confirms a change or the report is published, neither “delayed” nor “on time” is established. Check the live WASDE page and USDA announcements close to release time. If USDA announces a delay, use the agency’s stated revised date and time rather than inferring one from past shutdowns.

What does WASDE cover?
The World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates is a monthly USDA outlook prepared by the World Agricultural Outlook Board. It gives annual forecasts for U.S. and world supplies and use of wheat, rice, coarse grains, oilseeds and cotton. It also covers U.S. supply and use of sugar, meat, poultry, eggs and milk, plus Mexico’s sugar supply and use.
The Board chairs interagency commodity estimates committees. Analysts compile and interpret USDA and other domestic and foreign information to develop the estimates. WASDE is a national and global outlook—not a forecast of the price a particular farm will receive.

What pre-release context is available for corn and soybeans?
A USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service newsroom item dated September 30, 2026, reported that U.S. corn ending stocks were up 35% from the prior year and soybean ending stocks were down 3%. After publication, compare the relevant commodity’s October figures with the previous month’s WASDE and the historical USDA data. Focus on revisions as well as headline figures: a number’s meaning depends on the crop year, geography, and whether it concerns production, use, trade or ending stocks.

USDA links to consolidated historical WASDE data covering 2010–2026, a visualization updated the day after each monthly release, and an archive dating back to 1973. These resources are available from the official WASDE page. Once the October report is available, they can help distinguish a new estimate from a revision to an earlier one.

If comparing WASDE with a private forecast or a market move, compare like with like: the same crop year and geography, the same supply-and-use measure, and the same timing for the market price. A national estimate can inform a decision, but it cannot guarantee a farm-specific price or replace the farm’s own financial constraints.
