No Australian ticket won Division One in the Thursday, January 18, 2024 Powerball draw. The jackpot therefore rose to $150 million for the next draw; that amount was not won on January 18.

Were there any Division One winners on January 18?

No. Lotterywest’s official archive recorded the January 18 draw as Powerball draw 1444, with no national Division One match. Lotterywest said the jackpot had reached $150 million after five weeks without a Division One winner.

PerthNow reported that more than 424,000 Western Australian players won prizes in divisions other than Division One. Its January 18 article reported one WA Division Two winner receiving $132,040 and 33 Division Three winners receiving $14,656 each. Those state-level figures were reported by PerthNow and are not independently confirmed by the cited Lotterywest results archive.

What were the January 18 Powerball numbers?

The Lotterywest archive listed these winning numbers for draw 1444: 21, 31, 17, 22, 20, 24, 34. The Powerball number was 6. See Lotterywest’s official results archive.

Why did the jackpot reach $150 million?

With no Division One match on January 18, the jackpot was set at $150 million for the following draw. Lotterywest’s announcement described it as the game’s second-biggest jackpot at that time. Acting CEO Jeremy Hubble said, “The last time Powerball jackpotted to $150 million or higher was in October 2022,” according to the operator’s January 18, 2024 announcement.

The $150 million was a next-draw jackpot, not a January 18 prize. Lotterywest’s January 25 release later framed the upcoming draw as a chance to set a national record, noting that the $160 million jackpot offered in October 2022 was the largest then offered by an Australian lottery. The operator said $150 million had previously been offered once, in September 2019. These are Lotterywest’s 2024 comparisons; jackpot records may have changed since then. Its January 25 account also said 20 Australian Division One winning entries shared more than $552.15 million in 2023. Read Lotterywest’s January 25 release.

What should readers know about the ticket deadline?

Lotterywest’s January 18 announcement said tickets for the next draw were available in-store, online and through its app until 6 p.m. Thursday. That was a historical sales window for the next draw and has passed.
