When checked on October 8, 2026, Cash App’s status page showed “All Systems Operational,” the company’s newsroom displayed recent announcements, and the CFPB’s prepaid-account record listed Cash App as Active. Those facts describe the service’s status at that time; they do not guarantee future availability or establish the status of any individual account or transaction.
What the current evidence says
Cash App’s official status page showed all listed systems operational on October 8, 2026. The listed components included Send & Receive Money, Cash App Card, Cash App Pay, Direct Deposit, Offers, Add Cash, Cash Out, Investing, Bitcoin, Settings, Cash App Taxes, Log In, Savings, and Lending. The page reports feature-level conditions and incident resolutions, so a problem with one feature should not be treated as evidence that the whole platform is closing.

Other current records also indicated ongoing operation. Cash App’s newsroom displayed an October 5, 2026 item and releases dated September 30 and September 24; its press archive listed product news dated September 10. The CFPB’s prepaid-account database listed Cash App as Active when checked. These are indications of activity, not an assurance that the service will remain available indefinitely.
How to check whether a problem is an outage or a shutdown
- Open the Cash App Status page and look for the feature that is failing, such as Log In, Add Cash, or Cash Out.
- Check whether the page reports an incident or resolution for that specific component. A component-level disruption can affect a task without meaning Cash App as a whole is closing.
- For product or policy changes, look for a dated notice in the Cash App newsroom, the press archive, or the U.S. Terms of Service.
The source of the particular shutdown rumor or notice prompting the question is not established here. Treat an undated post or message as unverified unless it points to a dated, official announcement.

A change to one Cash App service is not a platform-wide closure
Cash App’s U.S. Terms of Service, last updated June 4, 2026, say the Remittance Service would no longer be supported effective May 1, 2026. That is a change to a specific service, not an announcement that Cash App is shutting down entirely.
What the settlement news means—and does not mean
On July 8, 2026, Connecticut Attorney General William Tong announced a $45 million multistate settlement with Block concerning alleged deceptive practices, fraud protection, and customer service. The settlement announcement addresses those issues; it is not a Cash App shutdown announcement. It should not be used as a measure of whether the app is operating.
