Deal status: The reported 21% discount is historical, not a verified current offer. Coverage updated January 31, 2024, listed the MSI Codex R 13NUC5-068US at $1,032, down from a stated $1,299. No August 2026 price or availability is established, so treat those figures as past offer details—not a price to expect today. The bundle includes a keyboard and mouse, but MSI lists no monitor.

The $1,299 figure is the original article’s listed comparison price, not proof that the PC regularly sold for that amount. A discount calculated against an old reference price does not establish today’s value. Before buying any listing, check that it names the complete SKU, 13NUC5-068US, and confirm the seller, condition, warranty terms, and final checkout total.
What is included—and what is not?
MSI’s specification for this exact U.S. SKU lists the following configuration. MSI’s model-specific specification sheet is the reference for these components.

It is not a monitor-inclusive setup
MSI lists a tower, keyboard, and mouse; no monitor is listed. Speakers, headset, webcam, and a display cable are also not confirmed by the specification. This is an all-in-one buying package for the tower’s basic peripherals, not an all-in-one computer or a complete desk setup. If you need a screen, include its cost when comparing the total price.
Check the SKU, not just the product family
Codex R systems with similar names can have different memory, storage, operating system, and warranty specifications. MSI’s Codex R 13th comparison page shows why the family name alone is not enough to identify a configuration. Match 13NUC5-068US on the listing and verify each major component before ordering; a replacement listing may describe a different system.

How suitable is the hardware for gaming?
RTX 4060 graphics
The RTX 4060 is a mainstream, 1080p-class gaming GPU. Results vary by game, resolution, graphics settings, ray tracing, and upscaling. The historical deal report does not provide independent benchmark results, so it is not a basis for promising a particular frame rate or maximum settings across games.

The 13th-generation Core i5-13400F is suited to mainstream gaming and everyday productivity. Its “F” designation means it lacks integrated graphics; video output relies on the discrete graphics card. That is normal for a gaming desktop, but it means the system cannot use the CPU’s integrated graphics as a fallback if the RTX 4060 is removed or unavailable.

- Start Your PC Gaming Story With RTX 5070 Performance: The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 delivers 1440p and 4K gaming with ray tracing and DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation — serious hardware for a first PC that refuses to feel like one.
- A Platform Built to Perform and Scale: The Intel Core i5-14400F and 32GB DDR5 RAM keep the RTX 5070 running without limits — smooth, stutter-free gameplay whether you are gaming, streaming or multitasking at full load.
- The Prebuilt That Grows With You: Built on standard, off-the-shelf components, upgrading your storage, RAM or GPU down the line is always a straightforward next step — no tech expertise required.
- Four-Fan Cooling Built for Marathon Sessions: A dedicated RGB CPU Air Cooler and four-fan airflow system maintain consistent temperatures throughout every session, so your performance at hour one is identical to hour five.
- WiFi 6E, MSI Center and Windows 11 Home Included: WiFi 6E delivers lower latency on the less congested 6GHz band, while MSI Center puts full control of RGB, fan curves and performance profiles in one beginner-friendly dashboard.
Memory and storage
For a prebuilt in this class, 32GB of DDR5 memory and a 2TB SSD are practical strengths: they provide more headroom and capacity than common 16GB/1TB entry configurations. The listed drive is M.2 NVMe Gen3, not Gen4. Capacity and adequate gaming performance matter more to most buyers than the generation label alone.
Power, wireless, and upgrade considerations
The specified 650W 80 Plus Gold power supply is a useful detail, but its wattage alone does not establish compatibility with every future graphics card. Check the exact PSU connectors, case clearance, cooling, motherboard, and BIOS support before planning an upgrade. Wireless is 802.11ac—not Wi-Fi 6, 6E, or 7—while wired Ethernet is specified at 2.5Gbps.

MSI lists one HDMI 2.1 output and three DisplayPort 1.4a outputs, two M.2 slots, and four SATA 6Gbps ports. Rear connections include USB 2.0, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, and USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C; the front has USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports. These specifications describe the listed configuration, but they do not by themselves establish how easy or worthwhile a particular upgrade will be.

Is it a good buy at the old deal price?
The old $1,032 figure cannot be judged as a current bargain without a live price and comparable current systems. By 2026, the RTX 4060 and 13th-generation processor are older platforms; newer systems may offer a more recent GPU or features for similar money. Compare complete configurations and total cost, not a percentage off an old reference price.

- Consider it if the exact SKU is available new from a reputable seller at a clear discount to comparable current prebuilts, and you value its 32GB RAM, 2TB storage, included keyboard and mouse, and stated three-year SKU warranty.
- Compare further if its price is close to newer-GPU systems, or if you need Wi-Fi 6E or later, quieter operation, greater upgrade flexibility, or independently reviewed thermal and acoustic performance.
- Look elsewhere if you need a monitor in the package, the listing has changed to a different SKU, or the seller and warranty handling are unclear—especially for used, renewed, or open-box stock.
For alternatives, compare a current-generation prebuilt, a custom or boutique system with clearly identified parts, or a bundle that actually includes a monitor. MSI’s Codex R 14th specifications and desktop range can help identify models to compare; they do not establish current prices or prove that a newer model is better value. Check each candidate’s GPU, memory, storage, wireless, warranty, and included accessories.
