Combined, those responses amount to 70% expressing some degree of support. The two figures should not be conflated: the poll report distinguished strong support from somewhat support.
What consumer changes did respondents report?
The article also described respondents’ reported purchasing, travel and subscription choices. These are separate survey responses; the reported figures do not establish how often people made those changes or how much they spent.

How was the poll conducted, and what can it show?
According to MobileSyrup, Leger conducted the survey online from February 14 to 17, 2025, among 1,500 Canadians. The article says respondents were not randomly sampled, so a conventional margin of error cannot be assigned. That limits how confidently the results can be generalized to all Canadians.
The original Leger report and questionnaire were not available for independent verification. The article does not provide the exact question wording, recruitment or weighting details, or results broken down by region, age, political preference or other groups. The percentages are therefore best understood as figures MobileSyrup attributed to that particular survey—not as a current reading of public opinion or a detailed account of every Canadian’s response.

What the figures do—and do not—say about household finances
The reported answers describe stated attitudes and self-reported changes in behaviour. They do not measure the financial effect of tariffs on Canadian households, the amount respondents shifted in spending, or whether those choices continued after the survey. Nor do they show that tariff support caused any reported change in shopping, travel or subscriptions.
