Morley’s Galleria Shopping Centre is undergoing an approximately A$240 million redevelopment, with a fashion and lifestyle mall, an alfresco dining and entertainment precinct, upgrades to Centre Court and a new cinema planned. Construction formally began on 19 September 2025, and the centre forecasts completion by the end of 2026. The centre is expected to stay open during the work, although access, parking and amenities may change.
What is happening at Galleria?
Galleria is in Morley, in Perth’s north-east. Its current redevelopment plan focuses on refreshing the retail, dining and entertainment offer rather than simply adding a published count of 100 new stores. The centre describes the future Fashion and Lifestyle Mall as a home to nearly 100 brands, including new and expanded retail options; it has not published a final tenant count or complete retailer list. When will the redevelopment be finished?
Formal construction commenced on 19 September 2025. Galleria’s stated target is completion by the end of 2026. That is the centre’s forecast for the redevelopment, not a guaranteed opening date for each individual shop or venue. Galleria’s project information gives the current schedule.
Will Galleria stay open during construction?
Yes. Galleria says it will remain open while redevelopment work is underway. However, construction may affect parking, amenities and access, and temporary restroom arrangements are part of the project information. What is changing at Myer?
Myer is temporarily closed for refurbishment. Galleria expects the store to reopen in late 2026 with a refreshed layout, a revitalised beauty hall, and new and expanded brands. The centre has not stated an exact reopening date. Galleria’s project FAQ provides the latest stated information.
Will there be a new cinema?
A new cinema is planned as a partnership between HOYTS and ACE Cinemas, with an opening expected in late 2026. The announced features include signature recliners, motion-enhanced seating, a refreshed foyer and Candy Bar, and new cinema technology. Is this the same plan reported in 2016?
No. A PerthNow report dated 29 June 2016 described an earlier proposal involving more than 100 new stores, a gourmet food hall, additional restaurants, an interactive playground, leisure and entertainment zones, a town square and an urban plaza. Those were elements of that earlier scheme, not confirmed features of the redevelopment now underway. The current project is described by Galleria and Vicinity Centres as a roughly A$240 million redevelopment focused on the fashion and lifestyle mall, alfresco dining and entertainment, and Centre Court upgrades.
