Why BarbeRue Sauce was stocked at Coles
Mupedzi won Season 15’s condiment immunity challenge with BarbeRue Sauce, served with ribs and chicken. Paramount announced on June 15, 2023 that the sauce would be available at Coles stores around Australia for a limited time; contemporary PerthNow reporting said the release began June 16, 2023. The announcement described a temporary release, not ongoing nationwide availability. Paramount’s announcement and PerthNow’s 2023 report record the launch.
What the sauce tasted like and what was in it
Mupedzi described her sauce as “smoky, sweet and very spicy.” PerthNow characterized it as tangy and spicy, rather than the sweeter style often associated with barbecue sauce. Coles’ product listing gives the bottle size as 375 mL and names honey, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, tomato paste, Dijon mustard, pineapple juice and spices among the ingredients. Check the retailer’s listing and packaging for the full ingredient and nutrition information before buying, especially if you have an allergy or dietary requirement. Coles’ product listing currently marks the product “Currently unavailable.”
Mupedzi also said she had not tasted barbecue sauce before moving from Zimbabwe to Australia in 2009, and connected her own sauce to family weekends around the barbecue. Her description and background appear in Paramount’s 2023 announcement.

Has the sauce returned?
There is no confirmed relaunch in the sources available here. In a May 2025 interview, Mupedzi said she still received Instagram messages asking when the sauce would come back. Those messages show that people were asking about it; they do not confirm a return date or current stock. PerthNow’s 2025 interview reports her comments.
If you want to verify availability, look up “MasterChef Barberue Sauce 375mL” on Coles’ website or ask your local store. The current online status is the best indication in the sources cited here, but retailer listings can change; “Currently unavailable” does not establish that the product can never return.
