A December offer advertised lower prices—$45.99 for Personal and $89.99 for Family—but each included a year of NordVPN Basic. Those were bundles, not standalone Microsoft 365 prices. Windows Central described the December bundle rates as the lowest it had seen in months and said both plans were at their lowest rates of the year; the available reports do not establish a comprehensive, like-for-like all-year low.
What the 2025 deals cost—and what was included
| Reported offer | Price for one year | What the evidence supports |
|---|---|---|
| StackSocial, reported July 11, 2025 | Personal: $64.99 Family: $99.99 |
Windows Central reported these annual offers and called Personal its best deal found. The report does not establish that either was the lowest standalone price available from every seller throughout 2025. Windows Central’s July 2025 report. |
| Newegg Cyber Monday bundles, reported December 1, 2025 | Personal plus NordVPN Basic: $45.99 Family plus NordVPN Basic: $89.99 |
Each price included one year of NordVPN Basic as well as the Microsoft 365 plan. They cannot be compared directly with a standalone subscription without assigning a value to the VPN. Windows Central called the rates the lowest it had seen in months and described both plans as at their lowest rates of the year. Windows Central’s December 2025 report. |
These are reported deal snapshots, not a complete daily or weekly price history across retailers. The headline claim that Microsoft 365 “hits lowest price of 2025” is best read as Windows Central’s assessment of the offers it covered—not as an independently verified record for every standalone plan and seller.
What Microsoft’s regular US prices were
A November 23, 2025 capture of Microsoft’s US plan page listed the following annual prices. The same capture showed a limited first-year offer for Premium; that promotion is separate from the regular annual price.
| Plan | Users | Annual price shown in November 2025 | Storage described on the archived page |
|---|---|---|---|
| Personal | 1 | $99.99/year | 1 TB |
| Family | 1–6 | $129.99/year | Up to 6 TB total, 1 TB per person |
| Premium | 1–6 | $199.99/year; the capture also showed $99.99 for the first year as a limited-time offer | Up to 6 TB total |
These are historical US page prices, not proof that a 2025 retailer offer remained available or that Microsoft charged the same amount at every point in the year. View the November 2025 archived Microsoft comparison page.

How to compare a deal with the price you will actually pay
The current Microsoft Store US page, accessed October 8, 2026, lists Personal at $99.99 per year, Family at $129.99 per year and Premium at $199.99 per year. Microsoft says Family and Premium can be shared with up to five other people, for six users total; Personal is for one person. Subscriptions renew automatically at the regular price unless canceled. Prices and promotions can change, so check the checkout screen and renewal terms before buying. Microsoft’s current US plan comparison.
- Compare like with like. A standalone code is not the same offer as a subscription bundled with a VPN. Consider whether you would otherwise buy the added service and what it is worth to you.
- Check the term and plan. Confirm that the offer covers 12 months and says Personal or Family as intended. A lower first-year price or a bundled package is not necessarily the renewal price.
- Divide Family’s cost only if others will use it. Family supports up to six people; its value depends on actual household use, not the maximum number of eligible users alone.
- Read the renewal and cancellation terms. Microsoft says subscriptions renew automatically at the regular price unless canceled. Check the amount and renewal date shown for the specific purchase.
- Verify region and redemption details. The prices above are from Microsoft’s US page. For a code, check that it can be redeemed in your account’s region and understand how redemption affects an existing subscription.
Buying and redeeming a subscription code
Microsoft Support says a physical package may include a product key. A code bought online may arrive by email or appear on the receipt. Redemption requires a Microsoft account and follows Microsoft’s setup flow; the seller’s product description should specify the plan, term and delivery method. If you want to avoid a subscription
Microsoft identifies Office 2024 as a one-time purchase for one computer, without feature upgrades to future major releases. It differs from Microsoft 365 in device scope and update model, so compare those limits—not just the upfront cost—against the subscription you would otherwise buy.
