The claim deadline for the $95 million Lopez Voice Assistant Settlement has passed: claims were due July 2, 2025. The settlement site also lists September 3, 2026, as the deadline to request payment reissuance, which has passed as of October 8, 2026. The $95 million was the settlement fund, not a guaranteed payment to each claimant. Check the official settlement site for any newer administrator notice; it does not establish that new claims can be filed.
Can I still file a claim?
No. The Lopez settlement site lists July 2, 2025, as the claim deadline. It lists September 3, 2026, as the deadline to request reissuance of a payment; that date has also passed. The available information does not establish that settlement distribution is fully complete, so anyone with an unresolved question about a claim already filed should check the official settlement website for current notices and administrator contact details. Do not treat that contact channel as an opportunity to submit a new claim.
What did the $95 million Siri settlement cover?
Lopez v. Apple, Inc. concerned allegations that private or confidential communications were obtained by Apple or shared with third parties after Siri activated unintentionally. The case was resolved through a settlement, not a trial finding that Apple committed the alleged conduct. In its February 10, 2025 preliminary approval order, the Northern District of California wrote: “Apple denies any and all liability but does not oppose the Motion.” Read the court’s order or see the official settlement FAQ.
How much could an eligible claimant receive?
The court order provided for a pro-rata share of the net settlement amount, capped at $20 per claimed device, with no more than five devices claimable per person. The $95 million describes the settlement fund; it was not a promise of $95 million divided equally among claimants or a $95 million payment to any individual. The amount available per device depended on the valid claims and devices claimed, and the $20 figure was a cap, not a guaranteed payout. These allocation terms appear in the court’s preliminary approval order.

Who was included in the settlement class?
The provisionally certified settlement class covered individual current or former owners or purchasers of Siri devices who lived in the United States or its territories and experienced an alleged unintended activation during a confidential or private conversation between September 17, 2014, and December 31, 2024. The covered devices were:
- iPhone or iPad
- Apple Watch
- MacBook or iMac
- HomePod
- iPod touch
- Apple TV
The class definition and device list are set out in the February 10, 2025 order. Preliminary approval and provisional certification for settlement purposes do not prove the allegations.

Which Siri-related Apple case is this?
Lopez is the privacy case about alleged unintended Siri activations and private communications. It is separate from a later Apple Intelligence case concerning allegations about delayed or unavailable Siri features. That later matter has a distinct $250 million settlement and separate eligibility rules and deadlines; its terms do not apply to Lopez.
