Maybern announced a $50 million Series B led by Battery Ventures to expand its fund management software for private capital firms. The company said the round brings its total funding to $76 million and will support an AI-focused infrastructure it describes as an operating system for private funds.

What Maybern announced

Maybern’s company announcement is dated November 12, 2025. A syndicated Business Wire release carried by Nasdaq is dated November 13, 2025, so the one-day difference reflects two publication dates rather than a different financing.

Battery Ventures led the $50 million round. The six other named participants were Primary Venture Partners, Human Capital, MetaProp, Grafton Street Partners, Camber Creek, and Friends & Family Capital. The company said the financing brought its total funding to $76 million.

The announcement also said Marcus Ryu, a Battery Ventures general partner and Guidewire Software co-founder and former CEO, would join Maybern’s board.

What Maybern’s software is designed to do

Maybern describes its product as fund management software and a “Performance Book of Record” for fund, investor, and investment data. It is aimed at private fund finance teams and managers, not individual consumers. The company says it is building a unified system to replace fragmented spreadsheets and manual processes with automation, controls, analytics, and traceability across complex fund structures and differing investor terms.

One workflow Maybern describes is administrator reconciliation: teams can keep calculation logic in the system and compare their results with an administrator’s books to identify differences. That is the company’s stated product approach, not an independently verified result for every customer. Maybern’s more recent homepage also describes agent-supported workflows, while the funding announcement frames the investment as support for AI-driven infrastructure. These are company descriptions, not independent product testing.

What Maybern says the funding will support

Maybern positioned the financing as investment in its fund-management platform and AI-driven infrastructure for private capital. Its stated product ambition is to bring fund, investor, and investment data together, automate finance workflows, and make calculations traceable. The announcement does not establish a specific product release schedule or a breakdown of how the $50 million will be spent.

Maybern’s reported scale and customer context

In its November 12, 2025 announcement, Maybern reported more than $80 billion in assets under management across more than 150 fund vehicles. The Nasdaq-carried Business Wire release also reported 4.6x year-over-year growth. Both are company-reported figures; the material available does not establish that they were independently audited.

The release names Madison Realty Capital, Gauge Capital, Town Lane, and Derby Lane Partners as Maybern clients, spanning private equity, real estate, and credit strategies. Maybern’s company profile says it worked with seven institutional fund managers with $2 billion to $250 billion in AUM to design its core product. These details come from the company and its release, and do not amount to independent customer validation.

How large is the private-funds market?

Maybern cited Preqin’s 2025 Private Markets in 2030 report for estimates of more than $16 trillion in private fund capital, projected to exceed $32 trillion by 2030. Those figures are attributed to Preqin through Maybern; the original report is not independently confirmed here. They provide context for the market Maybern is targeting, but do not demonstrate the software’s performance or adoption.

What the funding means for private fund managers

The round signals investor backing for Maybern’s effort to consolidate finance workflows and data at private fund firms. For a manager assessing software in this category, the questions raised by Maybern’s product description are practical: whether a platform handles complex fund structures and investor terms, exposes the logic behind calculations, covers the finance workflows a team needs, and supports reconciliation with fund administrators. The available company materials describe Maybern’s approach but do not provide a basis for ranking it against competitors.
