“Magma Fund” can refer to more than one investment business. The available company information points to Magma Ventures, an Indian investment firm associated with the Chamria family. It describes activity in listed equities, derivatives, private equity and venture capital, and structured credit; its stated startup focus is fintech, consumer, healthcare, and SaaS companies at early-to-growth stages.
What is Magma Ventures?
Magma Ventures says it was founded after the Chamria family’s 2021 liquidity event, when control of Magma Fincorp was transferred to the Poonawalla group. The firm’s website says Magma Fincorp was co-founded in 1988. Those dates describe the firm’s account of its history, not its investment performance. Magma Ventures’ website does not provide independent verification of its investment claims.
The name matters: “Magma Fund” is not sufficiently specific to identify an investor on its own. Magma Ventures is distinct from Magma Venture Partners, also known as Magma VC, and Magma Partners; their investment focus and geography differ.
What does Magma Ventures invest in?
Magma Ventures describes four areas of activity. Its website outlines the strategies below, but does not establish returns or independently verified results.

Its stated preference is for businesses that have reached product-market fit, are seeking growth capital, and want support to scale sustainably. What does Magma say it looks for in founders?
The firm says it looks for first- or second-generation founders addressing large markets, with skill-based competitive advantages and strong founder-product fit. It also says it prefers businesses that are less capital-intensive and have operating leverage. These are the firm’s published criteria, not a guarantee that it will invest in a company meeting them. Magma Ventures’ website invites early-to-growth-stage ventures to contact the firm about investment.

Which investments does Magma list?
Magma Ventures’ website names Magma HDI, National Stock Exchange of India Ltd, Fireside Ventures, Blume Ventures, Faering Capital, 3one4 Capital, and Trifecta Capital as investments. The page does not say when each investment was made, what stake the firm holds, whether the list is complete, or what returns it generated. The names therefore should not be treated as a current, comprehensive portfolio or a performance record. The firm’s portfolio page is its published source for these relationships.
