MariBank’s “Spend Overseas with Mari Credit Card” promotion is scheduled to run from 1 January 2026 through 31 December 2027, offering 1.5% cashback on up to S$1,500 of eligible foreign-currency spending per calendar month. That works out to a maximum of S$22.50 a month. However, the official terms last updated 3 September 2026 still state a S$270 promotion-wide cap and a 31 December 2026 card-issue cutoff; a 6 October report says MariBank confirmed those would become S$540 and 31 December 2027, respectively. The reported changes had not yet appeared in the linked official terms.
What the promotion offers
The promotion applies to eligible Mari Credit Card holders who make at least one eligible overseas spend in a relevant month. The official terms set the promotion period from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2027, inclusive, while reserving MariBank’s discretion to change the period. The S$22.50 monthly maximum is 1.5% of S$1,500. The S$270 overall cap in the official PDF is a separate limit from the monthly cap; a cardholder should not assume the monthly maximum will be available for every month of the advertised two-year period.
What changed—and what remains unconfirmed in the official terms
In a report dated 6 October 2026, Suitesmile said MariBank confirmed a revised S$540 promotion-wide cap and an extension of the card-issue cutoff to 31 December 2027. Suitesmile also noted that the linked official PDF still showed the S$270 cap and 31 December 2026 cutoff, and was awaiting amendment. Suitesmile’s 6 October 2026 report

There is therefore a material difference between the issuer’s published PDF and the later reported confirmation. The official PDF says its promotion terms prevail over conflicting marketing copy and allows MariBank to amend the promotion without prior notice. Until MariBank publishes amended terms, treat S$270 and the 2026 issue cutoff as what the PDF formally states, and treat S$540 and the 2027 cutoff as changes reported by Suitesmile, not as confirmed by the linked PDF. A transaction must post in the relevant month and must not be excluded under the card’s general cashback terms. It also cannot be reversed, refunded or cancelled. The foreign-currency amount is converted to Singapore dollars at the prevailing exchange rate on the conversion date; the promotion PDF does not establish that every foreign-currency purchase qualifies or set out the complete exclusions. Suitesmile reported that cardholders had seen cashback credited immediately when transactions posted since March 2026. That is reported cardholder experience, not the timing guaranteed by the official PDF.

What to check before relying on the offer
- Confirm that your card and account meet MariBank’s eligibility requirements; the official terms require the account to remain valid, subsisting and in good standing, as determined by the bank.
- Check the current official promotion terms for any amendment to the overall cap or issue cutoff. The PDF dated 3 September 2026 had not reflected the changes reported on 6 October.
- Review the general cashback exclusions and confirm that a transaction posts in the month for which you expect the reward.
- Do not treat the promotion as a complete statement of the card’s foreign-transaction fees. The promotion terms explain cashback mechanics, not the full fee schedule.
