The announcement reported 784 engineering vacancies across five advertisement numbers. Do not use an old application link as though it were open; check MahaTransco’s official Careers page and the specific advertisement for any current recruitment notice.
What the 700+ vacancies headline refers to
Scroll reported on 16 July 2024 that the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company (MahaTransco, also known as MSETCL) was recruiting for engineering roles under advertisements 03/2024, 04/2024, 05/2024, 06/2024 and 09/2024. The report put the total at 784 vacancies.
| Post listed in the 2024 report | Vacancies |
|---|---|
| Executive Engineer (Transmission) | 25 |
| Additional Executive Engineer (Transmission) | 133 |
| Deputy Executive Engineer (Transmission) | 132 |
| Assistant Engineer (Telecommunication) | 419 |
| Assistant Engineer (Transmission) | 9 |
| Assistant Engineer (Transmission) | 66 |
The report lists two separate Assistant Engineer (Transmission) entries, with 9 and 66 vacancies. They are kept separate here because the available information does not establish whether they refer to different categories or other distinctions; consult the relevant advertisements before treating them as one listing. Scroll’s 16 July 2024 announcement is the source for the reported total and post counts.
Is the MahaTransco application link still open?
No. The 2024 report gave 9 August 2024 as the last date to apply. That deadline has passed, so its linked application route is historical, not a current opportunity to submit an application. The official Advertisement 04/2024 PDF excerpt also said the company would separately publish the online application link when a URL became available. For any new or reopened recruitment, start with MahaTransco’s official Careers page and the relevant notice rather than relying on an old application URL.

A recruitment overview updated on 26 August 2026 describes later MahaTransco recruitment as post-specific, but it is a secondary source and does not establish the official status of each 2024 notice. A third-party listing’s status is not authoritative confirmation either. The latest status of individual notices should therefore be verified directly with the company.
Eligibility and fees depended on the advertisement
Qualifications, age limits, pay scales, reservation rules and relaxations were specific to the post and advertisement. The available information does not establish a single eligibility rule that can safely be applied across all five advertisement numbers. Candidates should read the official notice for their chosen post before relying on an eligibility summary.

Scroll summarized the 2024 application fee as Rs 700 for Open category candidates and Rs 350 for Reserved Caste, SEBC and EWS candidates, with no fee for Divyang candidates applying to a post reserved for them. The available excerpt of official Advertisement 04/2024 specifies Rs 700 for Open category and Rs 350 for Reserved Caste, SEBC, EWS and Orphan candidates, and no fee for Divyang applicants applying to a reserved post. Because the categories and terms are notice-specific, check the relevant advertisement before relying on these amounts or exemptions.
