The 784 vacancies combined several engineering roles advertised under five notices, rather than one position. Scroll’s August 9, 2024 report gives this breakdown:

The figures and advertisement grouping are from Scroll’s August 9, 2024 report. The two Assistant Engineer (Transmission) counts were listed under separate advertisements.
Application status and what to do now
The online application period ended August 9, 2024. The 2024 application steps and examination instructions are historical; they do not establish that a 2026 application window exists. Check MahaTransco’s current career notices before relying on any recruitment headline or submitting personal information. The reviewed company archive result was last updated June 20, 2025, so it does not establish recruitment status for October 2026.

Fees stated in one 2024 notice
Advertisement No. 04/2024 set a non-refundable fee of Rs. 700 for Open category applicants and Rs. 350 for Reserved Caste, SEBC, EWS and Orphan categories. It provided an exemption for Divyang applicants where the post was reserved for them. These amounts apply to that 2024 notice only; they are not current fees for a new recruitment. For that closed recruitment, applicants registered online, selected a post, completed the form, uploaded documents, paid the applicable fee and submitted the application. The 2024 report advised candidates to save or print the submitted form. Advertisement No. 09/2024 described an online written test, call letters to download and documents candidates needed to bring to the exam. Consult the official Advertisement No. 09/2024 notice for its specific instructions; neither notice provides a procedure for an unverified current opening.
