Bridgepoint became the majority investor in French enterprise-software company LumApps in a transaction valued at $650 million, announced May 28, 2024, and officially closed on July 9, 2024. The deal was not disclosed as a purchase of the entire company: existing financial backers sold their stakes, while LumApps’ founders and senior management retained equity. The transaction’s exact ownership percentages and financial mechanics were not made public.
What Bridgepoint bought—and what it did not disclose
Bridgepoint Europe VII made a strategic investment that gave Bridgepoint a majority position in LumApps. Goldman Sachs Alternatives’ Growth Equity business, Eurazeo Growth, Bpifrance’s Large Venture fund and IRIS were named as selling investors. LumApps’ founders and senior management remained invested in the company.

Neither the companies’ announcement nor Bridgepoint’s portfolio listing specifies the percentage acquired, management’s retained share, the split between cash and any rollover, or whether the $650 million figure represents enterprise value or equity value. It is therefore most accurate to call this a majority investment in a transaction valued at $650 million—not a $650 million cash payment, a $650 million fundraising round, or a disclosed post-money valuation. Bridgepoint’s announcement and its portfolio page give the transaction value, but not those underlying terms.

Eurazeo said the sale was expected to generate more than €210 million in gross proceeds for its funds and partners. That is Eurazeo’s proceeds from its own holding, not the total value of the LumApps transaction. Eurazeo’s sale announcement provides that fund-level figure.

What LumApps offered at the time
In 2024, LumApps described its product as a next-generation intranet: a digital entry point intended to bring company news, internal communications, HR resources, enterprise applications, search, knowledge discovery, collaboration, mobile features, video, AI assistance and microlearning into one employee experience. It said its platform integrated with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Workday, ServiceNow, Zoom, Salesforce, Box and SAP SuccessFactors, among hundreds of other business applications. Those are company descriptions of the platform’s intended scope; they do not, by themselves, establish how deeply every integration works in a customer’s environment. LumApps’ transaction announcement outlined the product and its integrations.
At announcement, LumApps and Bridgepoint reported more than 5 million users and about 700 clients worldwide. The company had a presence in the United States, Western Europe and Japan. LumApps also said it had been named a Leader in the 2023 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Intranet Packaged Solutions; that recognition is reported here as the company stated it, rather than as an independent assessment of product performance. These figures describe LumApps at the time of the 2024 deal, not the later combined business.
Why Bridgepoint invested
Bridgepoint’s stated plan was to back LumApps’ international expansion, particularly in the United States, continue product development, build AI and machine-learning capabilities, cross-sell additional employee-experience products and pursue acquisitions. The transaction joined a French-rooted software company with a majority financial sponsor seeking to develop a broader platform.
That strategy reflects a shift in enterprise software from the traditional intranet—a place to publish company pages and announcements—to an employee hub that may connect communications, knowledge, HR tasks, business applications and frontline tools. A consolidated entry point can make information and services easier to find, but buyers still need to test whether it adds useful workflows or duplicates capabilities already present in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or HR and collaboration systems. They also need to assess deployment effort across countries and employee types, content governance, permissions, search quality, AI data handling and the practical depth of integrations. These are evaluation questions for customers, not disclosed findings about LumApps’ results.
How the $650 million figure compares with earlier context
TechCrunch reported, citing PitchBook, that LumApps’ previous funding valuation was about $255 million. That secondary-source estimate offers context for the scale of the new deal value, but the two figures should not be treated as a like-for-like valuation history: the public terms do not establish the $650 million figure’s valuation basis or the stake’s precise purchase mechanics. TechCrunch’s report attributes the earlier figure to PitchBook.

July 2024: the deal closed
LumApps’ official news index records the closing on July 9, 2024, following the May announcement. LumApps’ news index lists the closing.
July 2025: LumApps agreed to combine with Beekeeper
LumApps announced an agreement to combine with Beekeeper, a mobile-first platform for frontline employees. Bridgepoint said the combined company was valued at more than $1 billion; the announcement described a business with more than 7 million users, more than 2,000 clients, approximately $150 million in recurring revenue and more than 600 employees. Those are company- and investor-reported figures for the combined platform, not a restatement of LumApps’ standalone 2024 scale. Bridgepoint said its managed funds would continue to own a majority. Bridgepoint’s announcement sets out the combination and reported scale.

For Beekeeper customers, LumApps said existing contracts, pricing, logins and support contacts would remain in place during the transition. It described the unified product experience as a phased rollout expected to take 12 to 18 months. LumApps’ Beekeeper page provides those customer-transition details.
April 2026: LumApps announced a Comeen acquisition agreement
LumApps entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Comeen, which offers workplace and space management, digital signage and visitor services. The announcement framed the move as an expansion of LumApps’ AI employee hub and workplace-experience offering. It announced an agreement; without a closing notice, it should not be described as a completed acquisition. Bridgepoint’s announcement describes the planned transaction.
