The original deadline of 9 January 2025 was extended to 17 January 2025. The recruitment covered 24 disciplines, and eligibility requirements varied by subject.
What was the JKPSC Lecturer recruitment?
Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) Notification No. 07-PSC (DR-P) of 2024, dated 9 December 2024, invited online applications for 575 Lecturer posts in the Union Territory’s School Education Department. The vacancies were distributed across 24 disciplines and categories, rather than offered as one pool open to every applicant. See the JKPSC website for the Commission’s official notices.
The notification referred to the Jammu & Kashmir School Education Department (Gazetted) Service Recruitment Rules, 2010, as amended, and the JKPSC Business and Procedure Rules, 2021. Applicants needed to meet the conditions for the particular discipline and category.
What was the last date to apply?
The original closing date was 9 January 2025. JKPSC extended it to 17 January 2025, and the application window has now closed. The extension was announced in a JKPSC notice reproduced in a PDF hosted by a third-party archive: JKPSC notices.
#1 Best Overall
The original notification said online applications and fee payment were required. It also scheduled an application-editing window for 10–12 January 2025 and said candidates did not need to send a hard copy or other documents to the Commission. Those were instructions for the 2024–25 application process, not steps available to new applicants now.
How many vacancies were there?
The JKPSC notification listed 575 vacancies across 24 disciplines. The notice’s vacancy table also gives category-wise allocations; the total does not mean that every discipline or category had the same number of openings. Applicants comparing posts needed to check the relevant discipline and category in the notification.
Rank #2
Who was eligible?
Applicants had to be domiciled in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and satisfy the prescribed academic or professional qualifications and age conditions. The required qualifications depended on the discipline, so there is no single subject requirement that can safely be applied to all 575 posts. The notification’s discipline-specific terms are the reference for those details.
What pay was listed?
JKPSC listed Lecturer Pay Level 9, with a pay range of ₹52,700–₹166,700. This is the stated pay scale, not a take-home salary figure.
Rank #3
What is known about the recruitment status now?
JKPSC’s official site search listing shows lecturer-related interview, rejection and provisional-selection notices in 2026. These later notices establish continued recruitment-related activity, but do not establish the outcome or current status of every post advertised in the 2024 notification. Check JKPSC’s official notices for updates relevant to a particular discipline or candidate.
