The headline’s “today” refers to that date—not to the present. JKPSC later recorded that the preliminary exam took place on 23 February 2025, so the 2024 application cycle is over. Scroll’s 2 December 2024 report and JKPSC’s later official notice establish that timeline. The JKPSC website is the official portal, but the historical application link should not be treated as an open form.
JKPSC CCE 2024 application deadline: what changed
The application dates changed in stages. The original notification set an August deadline; JKPSC officially extended it once, and Scroll later reported a reopened window ending in December. These were separate changes, not one continuous extension.
| Date | What happened | Source status |
|---|---|---|
| 26 July 2024 | JKPSC issued Notification No. 04-PSC (DR-P) of 2024. Applications were initially scheduled to open on 1 August and close on 21 August. | Notification text surfaced in an indexed copy hosted by FreeJobAlert, not a directly opened JKPSC PDF: original notification text. |
| 21 August 2024 | JKPSC extended the closing date to 31 August. The eligibility cutoff remained 21 August, and the notice allowed edits from 1 to 3 September. | Official JKPSC extension notice: JKPSC. |
| 15 November 2024 | Scroll reported that JKPSC had reopened online applications through 2 December. | Contemporaneous secondary reporting: Scroll’s 15 November report. No official reopening notice is established here. |
| 2 December 2024 | Scroll published its “closes today” headline on the reported final day of the reopened window. | Contemporaneous secondary reporting: Scroll’s 2 December report. |
| 23 February 2025 | The CCE 2024 preliminary examination was conducted. | Later JKPSC notice: JKPSC. |
The original application deadline was therefore 21 August, the official extension moved it to 31 August, and the later reported reopening gave applicants until 2 December. The official notice surfaced here confirms the August extension; the December dates come from Scroll’s reports.

Scroll’s deadline report summarized the eligibility and application charges as follows. These are secondary-source summaries; applicants seeking the precise rules, category conditions, or exceptions should consult Notification No. 04-PSC (DR-P) of 2024 rather than rely on a short news summary.
